Officially opened on June 26, 2026, this new luxury boutique hotel feels deeply connected to Icelandic culture. Its name refers to the poets and storytellers of Old Norse tradition, and that inspiration is woven throughout the entire property. The hotel is conveniently located near the city center of Akureyri with many shops and restaurants.
From the moment I entered, Skáld Hotel Akureyri felt like a beautifully illustrated Icelandic story. The interiors are artistic, atmospheric and full of unexpected details. Every hallway, corner and public space invites you to slow down and look more closely.
Poetry is not simply part of the decoration at Skáld Hotel Akureyri. It shapes the identity of the hotel.
That concept feels especially fitting in Iceland, a country where nature itself often seems poetic. Dramatic mountains, waterfalls, volcanic landscapes and endless summer light all find their echo in the hotel’s interiors. The design is luxurious without feeling cold and artistic without becoming pretentious. It combines Nordic elegance with rich textures, statement pieces and a warm atmosphere. The rooms continue the calm, refined atmosphere of the hotel. They feel comfortable, stylish and cocoon-like—ideal after a day of exploring northern Iceland. I was in love with all the details. Did you know that the entire hotel is furnished with unique pieces designed exclusively for Skáld? That attention to detail is visible everywhere.
The junior suite we stayed in was truly breathtaking. It was so tastefully decorated that I felt at home the moment I walked through the door. Every element felt carefully considered, from the high-end finishes to the beautiful custom-made furniture.
The writing desk is the centrepiece of the room, perfectly reflecting the hotel’s literary theme and inviting guests to sit down and write their own stories. Each room is designed as a peaceful retreat, with a comfortable sitting area that is ideal for reading, relaxing or simply unwinding after a day of exploring.
The bathrooms are equally luxurious, featuring spacious rain showers, excellent water pressure and high-quality toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Our bathroom also included a large bathtub, which was perfect for relaxing after our whale-watching trip. It was exactly what we needed after a long day out on the water. And the towels deserve a special mention. They are oversized, incredibly fluffy and wonderfully indulgent.
The hotel also offers apartments that feel more like spacious luxury suites. They are particularly well suited to families, groups of friends or travellers looking for more space and privacy. These apartments do not feel like a practical alternative to a hotel room. They feel like a private residence with the services and design of a luxury hotel. Do note that those apartments are directly connected to the hotel.
Restaurant Abba-labba-lá
The hotel restaurant, Abba-labba-lá, is just as memorable as its name. The atmosphere is stylish but not overly formal, and the food easily matches the creative surroundings. I ordered the steak, and it was genuinely one of the best steaks I have ever had.
It was perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. Every element on the plate complemented the meat without distracting from it. It became one of the standout dining moments of my trip through Iceland.
Breakfast is another highlight. It is served at Abba-labba-lá (LOVE that name, by the way). The selection includes everything one could ask for from a luxury hotel breakfast: fresh salmon, local pastries, savoury dishes, sweet options, fruit and plenty of choices for both a light and a more substantial start to the day. The quality and presentation are excellent, but the atmosphere remains relaxed. It is easy to sit a little longer, enjoy another coffee and plan the day ahead.
A New Luxury Address in Akureyri
Skáld Hotel Akureyri gives travellers another reason to stay longer in Akureyri. What makes it special is not one single feature, but the way everything works together: the Icelandic poetry, the art, the beautiful rooms, the spacious apartments, the generous breakfast and the unforgettable dinner at Abba-labba-lá. Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is a five star luxury hotel located on the beautiful Athens Riviera. Location is excellent, the hotel is the ideal place to stay when you are looking for both relaxation near the coast and for visiting Athens. The city center of Athens can be reached in just 25 minutes.
When I entered Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens I immediately knew that this would be a great stay. The luxurious lobby definitely is an eye-catcher with its beautiful furniture and relax atmosphere. The contemporary design is impressive and the large windows offer stunning views over the surrounding areas. Loved it!
Let’s talk about rooms… Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens has a total of 303 rooms which are all luxuriously appointed and decorated in a very stylish way. Rooms are spread over 2 buildings: The Nafsika and the Arion Building. The room I stayed in at the Nafsika building was absolutely stunning and the view over the sea was just incredible. The room had upscale furniture and a very comfortable living area and separate sleeping area with the most comfortable bed. At 44m² it was very spacious. The large windows offered panoramic views over the Aegean Sea and it was nice to hang out on the private furnished balcony. As usual at any Four Seasons, the bed was heavenly. It was like sleeping on a cloud.
The large full marble bathroom was like a dream coming true. This bathroom is among the most beautiful bathroom I have ever seen. The free standing designer bathtub was top notch. The oversized excellent separate (rain)shower couldn’t be better. Oh, and I should definitely mention the Le Labo toiletries! A first time for me, but hopefully not the last. They smell a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Everything in the room was very well maintained. The room was cleaned several times a day and – of course – turndown service is provided each night.
Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens offer a lot of facilities to their guests. The spa center is a must visit when you are staying here. The relaxing treatments and facilities of the CBE Wellness area are designed to make you feel relaxed and reborn. Each morning, I started my day with a nice swim in the indoor pool. Their marble indoor pool is very impressive. That is right, even the pools at Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens are eye catchers. The large outdoor pool located right next to the beach is THE place to hang out when you’re looking for ultimate relaxation.
After hanging out at the pool, I went down to see the beach. Even walking on the board walk to get to the beach is truly pleasant!
Other facilities are the separate male/female Finnish sauna, Moroccan hammam for men and Rhassoul for women. The fitness area is up to date with great furniture and Pilates studio. For total relaxation after the work-out, the Silent Duvet Room is a treat! Several body treatments and facials are offered as well as private spa suites. I loved the semi outdoor terrace with plenty of loungers. It was sunny when I was in Lausanne and it was divine to rest here and reading a good book.
There are several dining options at Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. We had dinner at Mercato, their stylish Italian trattoria. The restaurant is located near the beach and we were lucky enough with the good weather, having dinner outside is always a good idea. . It made our evening even more pleasant. The food was delicious and the best thing was the view. Watching the sunset from here was heavenly!
Service throughout the entire evening was excellent. Every request has been taken care of with a smile. The service here was out of this world, very nice, easy going and certainly not snobby or anything.
The hotel offers more casual restaurants such as Taverna 37 – a beachfront bistro with a Greek cuisine and Helios – their Latin American grill restaurant.
If you are looking for a more formal fine dining experience, make sure to book your table at Pelagos, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens signature restaurant. It specializes in sophisticated Greek seafood. Although I didn’t eat here myself, I did had a look at the restaurant and was impressed.
Breakfast was outstanding! As you’d expect at a Four Seasons property, a nice buffet is offered with a lot of choices to start your day healthy. My favorite drink was the smoothie with ginger and freshly squeezed orange juice. So refreshing and healthy at the same time. Loved the fact that we were able to sit outside.
What a nice hotel to stay near Athens. This is a high class hotel with charm and a relaxed atmosphere. When you are in the area either for business or leisure, this hotel will do. I loved the overall service level and many facilities. Four seasons stands for high standard and that definitely was the case at Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. From the moment I stepped in until we left, I enjoyed every second here and can’t wait to return!

One of the best five star hotels in Belgium, la Butte aux Bois is nestled in peaceful Lanaken. As you approach this unique hotel, you’ll hear the sounds of birds and notice the beautiful surroundings. The hotel used to be a great manor house built in 1924. When the Bullens family moved into the manor, they opened a restaurant in 1986. A few years later, they opened the hotel. La Butte aux Bois has undergone several renovations and is one of the very best hotels in Belgium and a member of Relais & Châteaux. 2 years ago, a completely new building has been added with 20 gorgeous rooms and a brand new wellness center, La Forêt.
As soon as you enter the hotel, you’ll feel a sense of luxury and details. The contemporary décor made a great first impression. There are designer elements all over the place. The wooden details match perfectly with the dark designer floors. The young woman behind the front desk made us feel very welcome and offered a glass of sparkling wine, always a good start! I knew this was going to be a great experience, this place truly has character. Sometimes you immediately feel at home and at La Butte aux Bois they welcome you with a great smile.
We stayed in a brand new La Forêt room and we were very pleased when we entered the room. Again, the wood and designer elements are just gorgeous. The room had a great size and was built and decorated with eye for detail. The very comfortable couch was perfect for relaxing. I hate to lay on bed when reading a book, so I did appreciate the large couch. On top of that, each La Forêt room has amazing views over the forest. This factor really did make me feel more comfortable and added to the sense of prestige. Everything in the room is incredibly well finished from the furnishings to the art, styling and décor. The bed was very comfortable which enabled an excellent night’s sleep and added this, top of the line amenities are provided and immaculate cleanliness.
The comfortable and modern bathroom had a tub and separate rainshower. They provide La Forêt toiletries and trust me, they do smell amazing! I must highlight the soft towels!
La Butte aux Bois has 2 restaurants: Le Bistrot and La Source. We experienced La Source, a gastronomic Michelin rated (**) restaurant and we were blown away by the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 course meal with wine pairing. Do believe me, I have been to many restaurants and I can honestly say that La Source is one of the best places I have ever been. Head chef Ralf Berendsen is an artist. He knows how to combine fresh ingredients. It seemed as if the courses would never stop coming. My favorite courses were the monkfish which came with Iberico Belotta, artichoke, basil and foie gras. Also, the Anjou pigeon was just delicious. Every course we had the most magnificent flavors you could possibly imagine. The pictures will speak for themselves.
The service was almost unmatched and they really made you feel warm and cozy. Our La Source experience was the exhibition of art in food preparation and presentation. I loved every second of being there.
The next morning, I visited the spa area. I could spend here a whole day. Did you know that you can even visit the spa for a day without actually staying at the hotel. That is right, they have a day spa with a luxurious lounge with fruit and drinks. The relaxation area is absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. They do offer the most magnificent spa treatments in the most comfortable spa suites. On top of that, the large indoor swimming pool is large enough for actually lap swimming and I’ve found the water temperature to be pretty pleasant. Next to the pool, guests can use a large Finnish sauna, infrared sauna and a large steamroom. The outdoor terrace is perfect for tanning. The outdoor jacuzzi is a treat. I spent a lot of time in there 😊
Breakfast is served at Le Bistrot and as soon as you enter the restaurant they offer a delicious smoothy and fresh orange juice. The buffet-style breakfast offers a large selection of both hot and cold items and all products are of a good quality. Several à la carte options are available. Sparkling wine is offered to the guests as well. Very nice!
La Butte aux Bois is a one of the few five star superior hotels in Belgium and I can honestly say I was blown away here. Everything they do, they’ll do it in style. Without being over the top. I could be me and again, I enjoyed each moment in this jewel. Highly recommended for a luxurious getaway!

The hotel is located right on the stunning beach and offers five star facilities. As you would expect from a Leading Hotel of the World, we were greeted with a smile and the staff made us feel at home right from the first moment we stepped in. I immediately knew that this stay was going to be an amazing one … and it was … let me tell you why.
First of all, location location location… Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas is a beach resort with a prime location in Elounda. The area truly is mind blowing and is often described as the more exclusive part of Crete.
Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas has been active in luxury hospitality for quite a time now. They definitely know how to treat their guests and service here is on a very high level. Most staff members remembered my name which made me feel like a VIP guest. Every time I met someone, they were all very warm and professional. This is Greek hospitality at its highest level!
The lobby area at Elounda Beach is an elegant place to hang out and gives an excellent first impression of the resort. Check-in took place in one of the comfortable couches. Staff did make us feel at home right from the beginning. Everything we needed to know about the resort was explained in a very professional and kind way.
We stayed in an Waterfront Suite and were very impressed. When we entered we couldn’t believe our eyes. The first thing we saw was the private infinity pool … it was like a dream coming true! The Waterfront Suite itself was ultra luxuriously appointed, had a great size and had all the amenities I would expect at a high level five star hotel. I appreciated the up to date design. The suite was completely renovated. The beds are among the best I have ever slept in. It was great to hang out in the suite and we didn’t need to leave the suite as we had our own pool and sea deck. The view we had was the best we could ask for, watching the ocean while enjoying the sun was a blast! We couldn’t have asked for a better suite, it was perfect and we actually felt at home.
The suite had 2 bathrooms, each luxuriously appointed and featured an oversized walk-in shower and separate (gorgeous) bath tub! The steam shower was a bonus! Fancy Bulgari toiletries were provided. Everything was very clean. They maintain their rooms in an excellent way.
There are a lot of fun things to do here at Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas! The pool area for example is just stunning. This is the perfect place for adults to relax and unwind. Palm trees, comfortable loungers, etc. it’s all there! Kids are welcome at Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas as well. There’s a separate kids pool and a children’s supervised animation program. By the way, tennis courts are available at no extra charge.
A very cool thing about this resort: the sport activities. From very well maintained tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a football pitch and even a minigolf course. It’s all there and we enjoyed it very much. It’s very relaxing to play a badminton game during your holidays and to relax at the pool afterwards. Even if you like watersports, you can do waterskiing, sailing or even rent a water ski. Very cool! Of course, a fitness center is available too with extensive range of cardiovascular machines, body sculpting equipment and free weights. Whether you want a serious work out or just a gentle stretch of the legs, the fitness center is the place to be. Another would be walking. Walking around the resort is like taking a walk in paradise. The surrounding areas are just gorgeous in this upscale resort!
As a guest of Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas you are treated as royalty. I also loved the fact that they organize several themed nights. Staff is there to make each guest feel at ease. It’s not a snobby service, you are treated in a very kind way. Each staff member I encountered was a professional.
Time to relax! The Espace Vitalité Chenot Crete is one of the nicest spa areas I have experienced. The place is just beautiful … It is like entering a world of pure relaxation. Fantastic, I loved it! Decorated with high quality materials, relaxing music and the most wonderful staff … This is how every spa area should be like! I thoroughly enjoyed my treatment. The therapist was a professional. Make sure to book a treatment here. For me the experience was like returning to balance… an escape from the everyday and reinvigorate my mental and physical wellbeing while being in Elounda Beach’s tranquil and welcoming surroundings.
Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas has several dining options. Let me start with ‘White’. This is the buffet restaurant and is definitely an eye catcher! Decoration is fantastic, the way they combined the colors with all the decoration and furniture is lovely. We were both very impressed and not only by the decoration, also the food was just delicious. Each morning, they serve a delicious breakfast. It is one of the best breakfasts I have ever experienced. All the food items were of such a good quality. The à la carte menu will please anyone. I didn’t have lunch as the food from the breakfast was so good and I just had to try everything 😊
At night, I had dinner at Argonaut restaurant, their seaside restaurant and is known for its Mediterranean snacks during lunch hours and Italian cuisine at night. Meat, salads and seafood, it is all there and prepared in an excellent way. The Head Chef is a true professional and makes sure each guest will have a great time. We did wanted to try sushi as we have heard wonderful things about their sushi. Our request was dealed with a smile! We had a table with an amazing view over the sea. It was heavenly! Staff was very attentive and professional. We loved our evening.
As we were in Greece, we just had to book a table at Kafenion Greek Restaurant for the second night. The Cretan cuisine here is out of this world. Prepared to perfection, we tried several traditional and authentic dishes such as Greek salads, Mousakas, grilled lamb chops with thyme, virgin olive oil and lemon. Even the side dishes like a simple patato tasted heavenly! It was just delicious … The dessert – a Galaktoboureko custard filled pie – was to die for. Staff again was excellent and very knowledgeable about each dish.
A stay at the world known Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas is top notch. Of course, it’s a Leading Hotel of the World property after all! I can not say enough good things about this resort. Location is great, food is yummie, rooms are luxurious and the service level is unseen. Highly recommended for a luxurious Crete getaway!

Bulgari Hotel Milan is the most luxurious hotel in Milan situated in the heart of the city. The hotel has 58 rooms and suites, designed in a contemporary style that is both elegant and luxurious. The hotel is known for its amazing spa, which offers a range of services and treatments, as well as its attention to detail when it comes to its staff. As soon as you enter the Bulgari Hotel Milan you enter a world full of luxury. The lobby feels like a stylish living room with complimentary candies and cookies.
We all know Bulgari as a luxury brand but few know that they have several hotels all over the world. Service is unseen. As soon as you arrive they will remember your name and make sure you are treated as royalty. Our room wasn’t ready and we were taken to Il Bar to start our Bulgari experience. When I ordered the Bulgari cocktail I knew that this was the beginning of a fairytale. The name of the hotel written on top of the cocktail was an amazing surprise. Loved it.
Each room at Bulgari Milan is unique. What they do have in common: they’re all ultra luxuriously appointed. Each material is of a great quality. From the linen to the drapes, you can tell they didn’t save on money nor effort to make this hotel to be a true jewel. The design is awesome and so is the bed. One of the best I have experienced at any hotel. We had a very large balcony with several seating areas.
Bathroom was pretty fancy offering a separate walk-in shower and bath tub. Separate toilet is always a bonus.
What surprised me most was – again – attention to detail. I don’t know how they do it but they clean the room several times a day and we almost didn’t saw a staff member. Each time we were out of the room and came back, there was a surprise waiting: from taking care of our phone chargers with a small Bulgari holder, to fresh flowers, sleep well tea, cakes, etc. Very nice and hardly seen at any hotel world wide.

The food is fresh and you have plenty of choice. Make sure to check out the bar as well. They have great cocktails! For a quick bite or drink, there’s a mini market next to the reception.

Athina Luxury Suites is a renowned five star luxury hotel located in a prime location on the beautiful island of Santorini, offering stunning views and exceptional amenities. The hotel situated in a picturesque location in Fira, overlooking the breathtaking caldera in Santorini. As soon as you enter the gate into Athina Luxury Suites, you enter a world full of luxury and tranquility. We were welcomed at the hotel in the most friendly way. Some small talk made us feel at home immediately.
With 25 suites, Athina Luxury Suites isn’t a very large hotel. That’s why they are able to offer such a personalized service. Really nothing is asked for too much. When they handed out our keys, I couldn’t wait to explore one of their newest suites: the Black Rock Suite.
The Black Rock Suite is one of the exclusive accommodation options at Athina Luxury Suites. This luxurious room is designed to offer comfort, privacy, and a unique aesthetic experience. The minimalistic design of the room makes it truly unique and gives it a true cave feeling. It has been designed in a very classy and trendy way. The contemporary design with a blend of modern and traditional elements. The room’s interior is characterized by its elegant use of black and neutral tones, creating a sophisticated ambiance.
The room boasts a spacious layout that includes a comfortable sleeping area, a seating area, and a well-equipped bathroom with premium Hermès amenities.
The highlight of the Black Rock Suite definitely is the private pool deck with the most amazing view and private infinity pool. This area allows guests to relax in ultimate luxury while enjoying the breathtaking surroundings. I could have spent here all day long without getting bored.
In addition to the private infinity pool, the hotel offers a range of facilities including a large outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, and concierge services to assist guests in planning activities and excursions on the island. The main pool offers stunning views as well with plenty of comfy loungers.
At night we had dinner at Esperisma, a highly acclaimed restaurant known for its exquisite Mediterranean cuisine and breathtaking views. It is one of best places to enjoy a wonderful sunset. Our dining experience included a delectable three-course meal that showcased the finest flavors of Greece and beyond.
The culinary journey began with a classic Greek Salad that was a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to authenticity. The salad featured vibrant and fresh ingredients, including ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, red onions, tangy Kalamata olives, and creamy feta cheese. The flavors were beautifully balanced, and the drizzle of extra virgin olive oil added a velvety richness to each bite. It was evident that the ingredients were of the highest quality, offering a delightful start to our meal.
The main course, a Rib Eye Australian Prime Black Angus, was a true highlight that showcased the culinary prowess of Esperisma. After a wonderful night in a very comfortable king sized bed, it was time to eat again! The renowned breakfast at Athina Luxury Suites is something to look forward to! It is an à la carte breakfast. The night before you need to feel in a form with your preferences. The choices are endless. They will serve your breakfast on your private balcony. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the staff brought our breakfast. From the fresh fruit, avocado toasts to the yummie pancakes and crispy churros. Having breakfast with such an amazing view is something I will never forget.

This hidden gem is idyllic nestled on the island overlooking the sparkling waters of the Aegean Sea. The hotel’s reputation for exceptional service and nice views had piqued our interest, and our stay exceeded all expectations.
Check-in was so nice… The young lady gave us all the information we needed to know about the hotel and the facilities. She gave us a map of the island and showed some interesting spots to discover. What I also appreciated was the fact that she gave me a Whatsapp phone number. Every request we had, it was just a short message away. Very convenient!
During our stay at Venus Sunrise we stayed at a Honeymoon Suite with an amazing outdoor jacuzzi. The suites at Venus Sunrise are thoughtfully designed, seamlessly blending modern comfort with traditional charm. Our suite boasts a generous living space with lounge area, a kingsized bed and a well-appointed bathroom. The layout creates a sense of openness and tranquility. Matching colors, matching decorations and matching furniture… It is all there.
The private outdoor jacuzzi was the highlight of our stay. We enjoyed the warm, bubbling water while gazing at the breathtaking Santorini sunset. The experience was a perfect blend of luxury and natural beauty, allowing us to create lasting memories in a serene and romantic environment. When you stay here, make sure to enjoy the sunrise. When I woke up, I worked out at the fitness facility. And then it was time for breakfast. Combining the beautiful view with a delicious à la carte breakfast is like a dream. The items were all freshly prepared and all tasted excellent. Fresh orange juice, yummie fresh coffee and an amazingly prepared omelet with feta cheese… I loved each bite and sip.
Again, Venus Sunrise Hotel’s commitment to exceptional service was evident throughout our stay. The staff members were attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to cater to our needs, making us feel truly pampered. Check-in was very efficient and kind. Nothing is asked for too much here and every request will be taken care of. As soon as our room key was handed, we were brought to their ‘living room’. This is a place where guests can relax in one of the comfortable couches and enjoy a complimentary soft or hot drink during the day and night. You could compare it with an executive lounge that is accessible for all guests.
Then it was time to explore our room! The Breidenbacher Hof offers a range of sumptuous accommodations that cater to the most discerning travelers. The luxury rooms are a true haven of comfort. Our Grand Deluxe Room featured a tastefully designed petit salon that provides a separate space for relaxation or business meetings. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the room, from the high-quality linens to the personalized amenities, ensuring an unforgettable stay. The attention for details is spectacular. For example, they did place a photo on the bedside table of one of my cats. What a great touch. It made me feel at home even more!
The large marble bathroom is a masterpiece in itself, exuding a sense of lavishness and indulgence. Equipped with modern fixtures and spacious enough to allow for ultimate comfort. The free standing bath tub was perfect to relax. There was also an oversized (rain)shower. Complimentary luxury bath products are provided as well as plush towels and bathrobes.
At night, we had dinner at The Duchy, the signature restaurant at the Breidenbacher Hof! The most friendly staff took us on a culinary journey that delights the senses. Known for its commitment to using the finest ingredients and innovative preparation techniques, The Duchy offers a memorable gastronomic adventure.
The dinner commenced with the tantalizing Summer Ceviche, a refreshing dish bursting with flavors of the season. The combination of fresh seafood, citrusy notes, and a hint of herbs created a harmonious and light starter that set the stage for the culinary feast to follow. he main course was an exquisite serving of Salmon Trout sourced from the pristine waters of Lambachtal. The fish, cooked to perfection, offered a delightful blend of textures and was accompanied by an array of complementary flavors that left guests in awe of the culinary artistry. To conclude the meal, we were treated to a divine dessert featuring the freshest Schwarzbachtal strawberries. The delightful interplay of flavors, including elderflower, yogurt, and cucumber, created a sweet yet refreshing finale to an exceptional dining experience.

In the morning, before breakfast, I love to swim. Luckily, the Breidenbacher Hof has an indoor pool, sauna and steamroom. It truly is the perfect way to start your day. Everything is maintained in a very good way.

The crisp, luxurious linens and plump pillows added an extra layer of comfort, making it difficult to leave the bed in the morning.
The en-suite bathroom was a spa-like haven, boasting sleek marble finishes and premium toiletries. The spacious walk-in shower featured both a rain showerhead and a handheld option, providing a refreshing and invigorating bathing experience. The deep soaking bathtub beckoned for a relaxing soak after a long day of exploration. The plush bathrobes and slippers added an extra touch of luxury.
Our room came with access to the Panorama Lounge, a luxurious lounge where they serve hot and cold drinks during the day. They serve alcoholic drinks in the evening too. In the morning, a small breakfast buffet is available here. It is a very quiet place where it is great to relax or doing some work.
After unpacking, it was time to further explore Okura Amsterdam. I was happy to find out that there’s a large wellness area. Nagomi Gym & Wellness features a large fitness facility, large indoor pool, sauna, steamroom and several treatment rooms.
I decided to unwind and pamper myself at the hotel’s spa. The spa area exudes tranquility, with soothing music and a calming ambiance. The spa staff greeted us warmly and assisted in selecting the perfect treatment.
The spa menu featured an extensive range of rejuvenating therapies, including massages, facials, and body treatments. I opted for the traditional relaxing massage and was not disappointed. The skilled therapist used a combination of acupressure and stretching techniques to release tension and revitalize my body.
After relaxing, it was time for one of the highlights of Okura Amsterdam: dinner at Teppanyaki restaurant Sazanka. This fine dining restaurant offers a unique culinary adventure. Upon entering, we were greeted by a serene and inviting ambiance. The Teppanyaki stations were impeccably set, giving us a front-row seat to watch the skilled chefs expertly prepare our meal with flair and precision.
The menu at Sazanka is a masterpiece, featuring a wide array of premium Japanese ingredients and delicacies. The Kobe beef was undoubtedly the highlight, showcasing a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness that left us astounded. Each course was artfully presented, showcasing the chef’s creativity and attention to detail. The interaction with the chef throughout the meal added a personal touch, making the experience not only delectable but also entertaining.
