Me, myself and I

Having a passion for hotels and exploring new cultures. Giving advice to future guests is invaluable. In this blog, I will be writing reviews about quality hotels and I will be adding some pictures and videos. I will comment on the overall atmosphere, the architecture and the interior. A hotel is more than just a room to stay in: amenities such as the bar, the restaurant and the spa services are equally important. Everyone has their own opinion, but I will provide you with an objective impression to give you a general and clear idea of what is awaiting you.

Enjoy reading and travelling!

La Butte aux Bois

Hotelchain: Relais & Châteaux
Location: Lanaken – Belgium
Classification: 5 star Superior Hotel – La Source Restaurant (Michelin **)

20190620_213126 (1)

One of the best five star hotels in Belgium, la Butte aux Bois is nestled in peaceful Lanaken. As you approach this unique hotel, you’ll hear the sounds of birds and notice the beautiful surroundings. The hotel used to be a great manor house built in 1924. When the Bullens family moved into the manor, they opened a restaurant in 1986. A few years later, they opened the hotel. La Butte aux Bois has undergone several renovations and is one of the very best hotels in Belgium and a member of Relais & Châteaux. 2 years ago, a completely new building has been added with 20 gorgeous rooms and a brand new wellness center, La Forêt.

As soon as you enter the hotel, you’ll feel a sense of luxury and details. The contemporary décor made a great first impression. There are designer elements all over the place. The wooden details match perfectly with the dark designer floors. The young woman behind the front desk made us feel very welcome and offered a glass of sparkling wine, always a good start! I knew this was going to be a great experience, this place truly has character. Sometimes you immediately feel at home and at La Butte aux Bois they welcome you with a great smile.

We stayed in a brand new La Forêt room and we were very pleased when we entered the room. Again, the wood and designer elements are just gorgeous. The room had a great size and was built and decorated with eye for detail. The very comfortable couch was perfect for relaxing. I hate to lay on bed when reading a book, so I did appreciate the large couch. On top of that, each La Forêt room has amazing views over the forest. This factor really did make me feel more comfortable and added to the sense of prestige. Everything in the room is incredibly well finished from the furnishings to the art, styling and décor. The bed was very comfortable which enabled an excellent night’s sleep and added this, top of the line amenities are provided and immaculate cleanliness.

The comfortable and modern bathroom had a tub and separate rainshower. They provide La Forêt toiletries and trust me, they do smell amazing! I must highlight the soft towels!

La Butte aux Bois has 2 restaurants: Le Bistrot and La Source. We experienced La Source, a gastronomic Michelin rated (**) restaurant and we were blown away by the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 course meal with wine pairing. Do believe me, I have been to many restaurants and I can honestly say that La Source is one of the best places I have ever been. Head chef Ralf Berendsen is an artist. He knows how to combine fresh ingredients. It seemed as if the courses would never stop coming. My favorite courses were the monkfish which came with Iberico Belotta, artichoke, basil and foie gras. Also, the Anjou pigeon was just delicious. Every course we had the most magnificent flavors you could possibly imagine. The pictures will speak for themselves.

The service was almost unmatched and they really made you feel warm and cozy. Our La Source experience was the exhibition of art in food preparation and presentation. I loved every second of being there.

The next morning, I visited the spa area. I could spend here a whole day. Did you know that you can even visit the spa for a day without actually staying at the hotel. That is right, they have a day spa with a luxurious lounge with fruit and drinks. The relaxation area is absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. They do offer the most magnificent spa treatments in the most comfortable spa suites. On top of that, the large indoor swimming pool is large enough for actually lap swimming and I’ve found the water temperature to be pretty pleasant. Next to the pool, guests can use a large Finnish sauna, infrared sauna and a large steamroom. The outdoor terrace is perfect for tanning. The outdoor jacuzzi is a treat. I spent a lot of time in there 😊

Breakfast is served at Le Bistrot and as soon as you enter the restaurant they offer a delicious smoothy and fresh orange juice. The buffet-style breakfast offers a large selection of both hot and cold items and all products are of a good quality. Several à la carte options are available. Sparkling wine is offered to the guests as well. Very nice!

La Butte aux Bois is a one of the few five star superior hotels in Belgium and I can honestly say I was blown away here. Everything they do, they’ll do it in style. Without being over the top. I could be me and again, I enjoyed each moment in this jewel. Highly recommended for a luxurious getaway!

B&B: Mañana Mañana

Location: Antwerp – Belgium
Classification: Luxury Guesthouse

The recently opened Bed & Breakfast Mañana Mañana is a small boutique guesthouse right in the center of Antwerp. If you are looking for a high end property with personality, Mañana Mañana truly is the place to be! No large lobby here, the check-in desk is located right at the bar/restaurant. I was definitely welcomed with a great smile! Everything I needed to know about the place and surrounding areas was explained in a very kind way. I immediately felt home here which is quite unique.

A lot of places call themselves a “guesthouse”, but Mañana Mañana just really IS one! Soft relaxing music all over the place, a tranquil ambiance and only 4 rooms. The personal approach is lovely without acting over the top. On top of that, I was in love with the minimalistic decoration.

As said before, there are only 4 rooms here. All of them are very comfortable and very classy! I stayed at five star hotel rooms that were less comfortable than here. It is all about the details at Mañana Mañana, the room I stayed in kind of reminded me of a guesthouse in Spain. Such an amazing place to hang out and just be yourself. Again, decoration is quite modern and I really appreciated the high quality furniture. Honestly, the bed was one the best I’ve slept in. Very good quality.

Very spacious bathroom has large tub with rain showerhead and toilet. Definitely try the bathroom amenities, the shampoo smells pretty amazing 😊

Mañana Mañana has a bar and restaurant downstairs. A must visit while you are there or just passing by for a drink. Each time I’m there, they do surprise me with delicious and healthy options which make me feel I’m on vacation in my own country. I absolutely LOVE the (homemade!) brownie! It was just to die for! You wouldn’t tell I was in the center of Antwerp, it is like a hidden gem and I could have spent here all night long.

20190625_110428 (1).jpg

We even organized a workshop at Mañana Mañana and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. They took good care of us and prepared a delicious breakfast and lunch.

After the workshop it was fun to hang out at the outdoor terrace as we have lovely weather.

Breakfast is served downstairs in the coffee bar. What a lovely Spanish breakfast… freshly cut pata negra, several cheeses, freshly squeezed orange juice, a perfectly boiled egg… You name it, they have it. They offer different options for you to choose from.

The unique thing about the Mañana Mañana are Katrien and Alejandro. They both seem to enjoy their time here which is always nice to notice. No grumpy faces here, but all want to make sure you have a great time in Antwerp! Nothing was asked for too much. Looking for a true unique boutique experience in Antwerp? Mañana Mañana definitely is the place to be! Highly recommended!

Park Hyatt Hamburg

Hotelchain: Park Hyatt
Location: Hamburg – Germany
Classification: 5 star hotel

Park Hyatt Hamburg is a five star luxury hotel right in the center of Hamburg, making part of the prestigious Park Hyatt family. Location is excellent, the hotel is located near the most interesting places of Hamburg and each highlight is reached within walking distance. The fact that this hotel is located in a quiet street but still in the heart of Hamburg truly is unique. It always felt like coming home after exploring the city.

When I entered Park Hyatt Hamburg I immediately knew that this would be a great stay. The luxurious lobby definitely is an eye-catcher with its beautiful furniture and relax atmosphere. It is a very spacious lobby with an exclusive atmosphere and wooden details. Loved it!

Let’s talk about rooms… Park Hyatt Hamburg has 283 rooms which are all decorated in a very stylish way.  The room I stayed in was absolutely stunning and was very spacious. The luxurious room had upscale furniture and a very large and handy working desk. The décor was contemporary and very stylish. It probably was one of the largest rooms I stayed at in Hamburg. I should definitely mention the comfortable lounge chair which was perfect for reading a book and browsing on my iPad.

20190611_175004 (1).jpg
20190611_223137 (1).jpg

Marble bathroom was ultra luxurious and offered a separate bath tub and shower with a mirror. Very handy 😊 Fancy L’Occitane toiletries were a treat! They do smell amazing!

Park Hyatt Hamburg offers a lot of facilities to their guests. Club Olympus Spa is a must visit when you are staying here. The relaxing treatments and facilities of the wellness area are designed to make you feel relaxed and reborn. Each morning, I started my day with a nice swim in the indoor pool. After that I relaxed in the jacuzzi before I enjoyed my breakfast. Other facilities are the Finnish sauna and hammam. The fitness area is up to date with great furniture. For total relaxation after the work-out, the relaxation area is a treat! Several body treatments and facials are offered as well as private spa suites.

There are several restaurants at Park Hyatt Hamburg. Apples Restaurant is their signature restaurant with a fine dining menu and a more casual dining option would be Park Lounge.

We had dinner at Apples Restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Staff was excellent and sommelier was very knowledgeable about the wines. The five course wine set menu was delicious! The food tasted very good and was presented in an excellent way. We started with an excellent amuse and short after that the first course was served: pickled veal heart that came with a cute fried quail egg and cauliflower remoulade. The gazpacho that came after that was heavenly. I’m usually not a huge fan of gazpacho, but I loved loved loved this one! I could eat the trout filet blue with sour cream every day. Just lovely! As a main course, they served the back and knuckle of the pig. The apricot chutney they served with this dish was an excellent combination. And last, but not least, the elderflower crème for dessert was excellent. Service here was out of this world, very nice, easy going and certainly not snobby or anything. It made our evening even more pleasant.

Breakfast was outstanding! A nice buffet is offered with a lot of choices to start your day healthy. My favorite drink was the smoothie with ginger and freshly squeezed orange juice. So refreshing and healthy at the same time. Loved the fact that you are able to sit outside.

What a nice hotel to stay at in Hamburg. This is a high class hotel with charm and history. I loved the overall service level and many facilities. No wonder this hotel is rated among the best hotels in this town! It truly is a luxury hotel! Thumbs up, Park Hyatt Hamburg!

Terhills Hotel – Maasmechelen

Location: Maasmechelen – Belgium
Classification: 4 star hotel

Ever wanted to sleep in a mine building? The beautiful Terhills hotel is a classy four star hotel in Maasmechelen. The building used to be the former mine building of Eisden. After a multi-million renovation, it now is luxurious four star hotel with all the comfort one could wish for. When you arrive at the Terhills hotel, you will immediately notice the wonderful building and surrounding gardens. It has this magic feeling…

Entering this hotel is entering a classy place with an eye for details. Terhills opened 4 years ago and everything still looked brand new and I was in love with the smell throughout the hotel.

Check-in was very personal and accommodating. No check-in desk here, guests take place in the saloon and are offered a complimentary welcome drink. I nipped of my glass of prosecco while enjoying the stunning décor, wondering how our room will look like …

We stayed in a superior room with a view out of the garden in front of the hotel. Although not too large, the room was luxuriously appointed with high class materials and fabrics. To be honest, one of the best beds I have ever slept in. The stunning bathroom featured a large (rain)shower, single sink and toilet. It is all about details here at the Terhills hotel! All the decoration items in the rooms can be bought in the hotel. Very nice room!

The Terhills hotel has a brasserie restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn’t had the chance to check it out as it was fully booked while we were there, but the restaurant looked amazing and without a doubt, the dishes must be great!

The location of the hotel is idyllic. The National Park Hoge Kempen is only a few steps away and offers stunning views all over the area. It is great to see that the area is expanding and they are building new facilities such as a brand new wellness area, etc.

Also very interesting is the Maasmechelen Village which is directly located next to the Terhills hotel! The designer brand boutiques  surrounded by beautiful countryside and picturesque villages, are just beautiful. The village is huge! There are more than 100 luxurious outlet boutiques offering leading local and international brands at reduced prices all year round. Definitely worth a visit and not only for shopping! We had dinner at Ellis Burger which is located in the village itself and enjoyed our gourmet burgers!

By the way, we were happily surprised when we found out that the village is open on sundays as well.

After a day of shopping and enjoying a movie at the movie theater (also located next to the hotel), we went off to bed! As said before, the beds here are great! It feels like sleeping on a cloud…

The next day we had breakfast in the beautiful decorated restaurant. It was a delicious breakfast with several regional artisan specialities. Definitely worth the extra cost to enjoy your breakfast here!

The Terhills hotel is a luxurious boutique hotel in a great spot! It was a relaxing getaway and I promise you will feel at ease here… The overall décor and location makes of the Terhills hotel a true jewel!

Breidenbacher Hof – Düsseldorf

Hotelchain: Capella hotels
Location: Dusseldorf – Germany
Classification: 5 star superior hotel

Another time to visit Düsseldorf! A great city with the most wonderful hospitality and hotels!

Rated as one of the top hotels in Dusseldorf, we knew that our stay at the Breidenbacher Hof (a Capella hotel) was going to be a great experience and it was … As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by a very friendly, yet not too formal, bellman. He kindly asked my name and guided me to the reception. Check-in was very efficient and we did get some clear information about the hotel such as the free non alcoholic drinks during the day in the guests “dining room”, etc. Oh, I do need to mention this: no “staff” here, they call it “personal assistants”, very nice touch and very personal approach. We also received a map of the city and were surprised by how central this hotel is located. The upscale shops are just a few steps away and we walked to the old city center in about 10 minutes. The lobby area is spectacular with a stunning staircase and cosy luxurious seating areas.

We stayed in a very spacious grand deluxe room on the Royal Level and absolutely loved it! As you enter the room, you will notice the high quality decoration. To be honest, it was one of the nicest 5 star hotel rooms I have ever seen and I have been to MANY five star properties all over the world 🙂 After a full day of shopping and sightseeing, there is no better place than relaxing in those cozy couches. The bedroom is very large and has very soft beds with plenty of pillows to choose from. The bathroom with Italian marble has a bathtub and separate shower, double sinks and a toilet. Bathrobes, a Bose Sound system and espresso machine are there for your comfort. Even the minibar with soft drinks is included in the rate. There are touch panels from which you can control drapes, lighting, etc. The room actually felt like a Junior Suite to me and had a sitting area with the most comfortable couches. As you’d expect from a high class hotel like this, turn down service is provided each night.

It would be very difficult to get bored at the Breidenbacher Hof as it offers a fully equipped hotel gym and a luxurious spa area. We tried everything: the indoor pool, traditional sauna and steam room. The place is very relaxing, beautifully decorated and impeccably clean.

At night, we had diner at the Lobby Lounge and you should definitely try their traditional “Currywurst” 🙂 You’ll love it! But first we had a delicious cocktail in their stylish bar. After dinner it was great to just hang out in the ‘Living Room’ where they serve the non-alcoholic soft drinks and hot drinks throughout the day and night.

The next morning we were able to try out the other restaurant, the Brasserie 1806. Again, very classy! Breakfast was of a very high quality and offered a good variety of hot and cold items. There were several options: buffet, à la carte or both. We tried both and did not regret it. From the delicious latte macchiato to the freshly made apple pie… Once again, one of the best buffets I have ever seen! I loved every single bite and sip. By the way, their coffees are prepared with an eye for attention. Love those small things! They do make a HUGE difference!

If you are looking for an upscale hotel in a great spot, do not hesitate to stay at the Breidenbacher Hof. It is a true 5 star superior hotel where you will be treated as a star!

Cruise review: MSC Meraviglia

Cruiseline: MSC Cruises
Ship: MSC Meraviglia
Itinerary: Mediterranean

Most of you know I LOVE cruise ships… Cruising is definitely my favorite way to explore new destinations in a glamorous environment. MSC Cruises launched in 1988 and what began with one ship has now grown into a magnificent fleet of 15 ships. It is actually one the fastest growing cruise companies in the industry.

I explored and experienced one their newest ships, the MSC Meraviglia. This ship was launched in June 2017 and is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. Trust me, she’s huge with a capacity of 4,500 passengers and 1,536 crew members. There are 15 glamorous passenger decks offering the most luxurious facilities one could wish for. I immediately fell in love with the interior design of the MSC Meraviglia. MSC is known for its glitter and glamour finishing and that’s how it should be on a cruise ship. The eye catcher on Deck 6 is the Galleria Meraviglia with a magnificent digital ceiling: a LED screen with gorgeous images and videos that change depending on the time of the day. It is really spectacular. As you walk through this promenade, you will pass the Infinity Atrium. I see why they call it the Infinity Atrium as there are mirror on the ceilings. As usual at most MSC cruise ships, the Swarovski Crystal Staircase is a must!

Let me tell you something more about the cabins. MSC offers inside cabins, ocean view cabins and balcony cabins. The balcony cabin we stayed in was absolutely amazing and very spacious. Actually, one the largest balcony cabins Ive ever stayed in. The king sized bed was among the best as well. No small couch here, but a full sized comfortable couch which was excellent for relaxing and reading a book. The balcony had a good size too with high quality furniture. There was a big interactive tv with several channels that we enjoyed. I can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the design and lay out of the cabins. What I appreciate is that each cabin has a minibar, even insides. Also, the touch panels to control the bedside lights were great! Another feature I like is the switch controlled ‘Do Not Disturb’ and ‘Make Up My Room’ signs. There’s a double wardrobe in the cabin which was large enough to store your luggage and clothes.

The bathroom has a large shower with glass doors, a footrest which is ideal for leg shaving. There also a clothes wire for drying laundry. There are no toiletries provided, but there’s shampoo and soap available in fixed dispensers. The single sink has a great design and there’s a convenient cupboard with shelves. Do note that MSC sells its cruises by “experience” rather than cabin types. For example, the standard experience is called Fantastica which offers a classic cruise experience. The next level is Bella which offers a complimentary room service, etc.

There is so much to do on board of the MSC Meraviglia. As mentioned before, there are 15 (!) passenger decks. On Deck 5 I loved the infinity bar. This modern bar is the perfect place for people watching which is always fun, right? Oh by the way, drinks are not included in the fare, but I do recommend to buy a drinks package as it is great value for money. We paid 206 EUR per person for the Easy Package which includes unlimited consumption of selected drinks priced up to 6 EUR. There’s a good selection of spirits, wine, cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks and juices available. Also bottled water and classic hot drinks are included in all bars and restaurants, excluding specialty restaurants. I do like the all inclusive feeling without having to worry about the final bill at the end of the cruise. With a drinks package you know exactly what you will spend on board regarding drinks.

I would call Deck 6 the heart of the ship as it is home to the Galleria Meraviglia with the LED ceiling. Here you can shop and dine as you walk by many beautiful shops and dining venues. Also, make sure to visit the Jean-Philippe Chocolate store! The chocolate masterpieces they show are incredible (and I’m sure they taste pretty good as well!).

Plaza Meraviglia is the small shopping area of MSC Meraviglia with watches and sunglasses, perfumes and cosmetics and a mini hall. Here you can also find the MSC Excursions desk where you can book your shore excursions. The MSC shop is the place to buy souvenirs. Right across this gift shops, there’s Fashion Jewellery.

If you walk through the Galleria Meraviglia to the front of the shop, you will enter Broadway Theatre. A spectacular theatre where passengers can enjoy shows each night. In terms of entertainment, MSC is one of my favorite! Behind every corner, there’s something new waiting for you. I like to get entertained! There’s so much to do on this ship… I’ve found the quality of the shows excellent, especially Virtual, a resolutely contemporary show for today’s generation. Do note that you must book to attend a show. You can book any time up to 10 minutes before show time very conveniently through the MSC For Me app which I will tell you more about later. Speaking about shows, MSC works together with Cirque Du Soleil. That is right, for the first time ever, Cirque Du Soleil is at sea and they designed a special theatre on board the MSC Meraviglia. There are two 40-minute productions – Sonor and Viaggio – for you to enjoy at a small surcharge. We paid 15 EUR per person for each show and this includes a cocktail. I liked both shows, but found Sonor a little bit better as the special effects during this show were stunning.

Also during the day, there is so much to do. There are quizzes, dance classes, games, etc. all over the ship.

I should also highlight the Polar Aqua Park on Deck 19. It is the best water park at sea I have ever seen with 3 great water slides and the Himalayan Bridge which was very fun and actually a bit scary too. All activities are included in the rate. Very cool! Kids will have the time of their life here (and not only kids!). There are large outdoor pools available, Atmosphere Pool and Bamboo Pool, on deck 15. If the weather is bad, they will cover the Bamboo pool with a sliding roof, turning it into an indoor pool.

If you want to relax and unwind, make sure to visit the MSC Aurea Spa. This beautiful area is the place to visit when you want to come at ease. For a cruise ship, this spa center is huge offering several kinds of saunas and steam rooms. Do note that access is not included so you need to pay extra to make use of those facilities.

MSC is known for their family facilities. On Deck 18 you will find the kids clubs. That is right, there are several clubs on this ship especially built for kids. It is safe to leave your children here since there’s a reception and kids can’t just leave this area. They divided the clubs based on ages. There’s the Baby Club Chicco, Mini Club Lego, Junior Club Lego, Doremi Studio and the Young and Teen Club. This is also the place where you will find Sportplex, a place to play soccer, basketball, etc. Very cool!

Cruising is also about dining. There are many restaurants on board the MSC Meraviglia. Not all the restaurants are included in the fares. There are 5 specialty restaurants which cost extra. I did not make use of them as I found the food and service in the main restaurants to be really good. Beside the main restaurants, there’s also the huge Marketplace buffet on deck 15 with endless choices of freshly prepared food. The quality of the food was excellent and since this place is so huge, we never found any problem finding a table. The Marketplace buffet was our favorite place to have lunch. At night, we had dinner at L’Olive Doree. The food was just amazing! Each night, a delicious three course menu will be served. I’ve found the overall quality of the food pretty good and it all tasted fresh. Service was great too.

Cruising is not only about the ship, the ports we visited were beautiful. We had such a nice itinerary and visited Italy (Genua and Rom), Malta, Sicily (Palermo), Spain (Barcelona) and France (Marseille). That’s the main advantage of a cruise. You can visit so many places. You can book your excursions via MSC or just go off the ship and explore the area on your own which we did most of the time. It’s always nice though when you get back on the ship. It almost feels like coming home 😊

By the way, make sure to download the MSC For Me app when you cruise with MSC. It is so convenient to navigate and see what’s going on. You can even see the menus and book your seats for shows. You can actually chat with your fellow passengers and keep in touch. All you need to do is log in on the on board wifi system. The use of the MSC For Me app is free and a must have while you are on board.

MSC Meraviglia is new ship with tons of facilities and endless dining options. The service on board was great. Our cabin steward was very nice and nothing was asked for too much. The whole ship is maintained very well and was spotlessly clean. Make sure to check it out yourself, you will love it! We had the time of our lives on this jewel! Can’t wait to sail on her again!

Burj Al Arab – Dubai

Hotelchain: Jumeirah
Location: Dubai – UAE
Classification: 5 star hotel deluxe (some say world’s only 7 star hotel)
Official website

Internationally renowned as world’s most luxurious hotel, I had the opportunity to experience the famous Burj Al Arab in Dubai. It is located on a man-made island, 280 meters from the Jumeirah beach. It is the flagship of the Jumeirah hotel group.  Only hotel guests (or guests with a reservation in one of the restaurants) can enter the hotel, so there is no sightseeing here.  This is a good thing, as I saw a number of people at the front gate taking pictures of the hotel.

5 3

Located at Jumeirah beach, Burj Al Arab is located between Dubai Marina and Business Bay. There’s a holiday vibe around the area.

When I approached the entrance, I was impressed with the height of the hotel… 321 meters above sea level… Trust me, it is HUGE!  As soon as you enter the Burj Al Arab, you will enter in a completely different world.  I truly was blown away… Gold everywhere.  It is reportedly the only 7 star hotel in the world and I can easily understand why.  After taking the escalator — with a huge aquarium – you can look up 200 meters. A lot of looking up!  Did you know that the Statue of Liberty would fit inside?  Also, there are dancing fountains all over the place with tons of different programs, so you’ll never get bored when watching!

The suites

There are no rooms in the Burj al Arab, only suites. Starting at 170m² (1,829 sq. ft.), all of the rooms are duplex suites, each with the highest level of comfort one could wish for.  The Burj has 1600 staff members looking over “only” 202 suites.  So that’s… eight members for each suite? Yep! There is a private check-in and butler service for each suite. No waiting times here at the reception. They explain everything you need to know and will do anything you ask — like making reservations in one of the restaurants, booking day trips to the city, making sure you will get the dessert you want, etc.

Every suite in the Burj Al Arab is beautifully decorated. Although the hotel opened back in 1999, the suites look very up to date and brand new. From the marble entrance with large staircase to the oversized living rooms, you will feel like a king or queen while walking around. They have the world’s most expensive mattresses, which can be adapted to customer needs and preferences. These things are making this hotel truly unique; returning guests are assured they will have a wonderful night.

21 20

The bathrooms are huge — they used Italian marble – and you will be so relaxed after spending some time in the oversized jacuzzi.  Oh, a great thing: did you know that Hermès produced a special edition of perfume for the Burj Al Arab?  That is right, full-size Hermès Burj Al Arab amenities (female + male) are offered to guests at no additional charge. Of course, you could take them home as a souvenir.

12 13

Spa facilities

A full spa – the Talise Spa – is located on one of the top floors. I was not able to take pictures of the spa area, but there is an indoor pool, jacuzzi, fitness, etc. Several treatments are offered and after a relaxing massage you can relax in the spa resting area, accessible for guests only, of course. From there, you can look straight down (200 meters!) to the ground level. Very impressive and not recommended when afraid of heights 🙂

Spa treatments are excellent! They exactly know how to make you feel at ease and so relaxed. Just tell them which pressure you prefer and you will enjoy every single minute. The soft music all over the place made it even more relaxing.

There is also an outdoor pool area — and the Burj has its own beach across the bridge. The recently opened Terrace is stunning! For water fun, there is complimentary access to the Wild Wadi Waterpark, which is located across the bridge.

The famous Burj Al Arab hotel is one of Dubai’s highlights and one of world’s best hotels… The hotel’s immaculate reputation is well earned and you will be impressed with every aspect of your stay!
