Villa Magna is one of the most luxurious five star hotels in Madrid or let’s even say Spain! I just had to explore and experience this hotel myself and was blown away with this property… As the hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World, my expectations were high and didn’t disappoint. All I can say that it definitely deserves its good reputation!
Location is excellent, right near the center of Madrid. The hotel is located in Salamanca, the Madrid district known for its high end boutiques and trendy restaurants. Madrid’s Big Three Art museum, the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza are reachable in walking distance. We walked to the old city center in just 20 minutes.
As soon as you enter Villa Magna, you enter a world full of luxury. The lobby area is just stunning and recently renovated. I immediately noticed the beautiful art pieces and cozy lounges. The place is dotted with plush sofas and features a champagne bar with garden facing picture windows. I could spend hours here reading a good book!
With only 150 rooms and suites, Villa Manga is not a very large hotel which is why they could offer a very high service level. I’ve found the service to be very personal and professional. They even remembered my name. Front desk staff was very professional and made me feel at home right upon arrival. My rooms keys were handed in just a matter of seconds and everything I needed to know about the hotel was told in a very kind way. What a great start!
There are several types of rooms at Villa Magna and each room is luxuriously appointed with all the amenities and facilities one could wish for. I stayed in a Grand Prestige Room and what a prestigious room it was… With a size of 50m², I had plenty of space… right in the center of Madrid! The room was huge and the décor was refined. Our room (I must say ‘suite’) was furnished in mahogany wood. I still had some work to do and was very pleased with the spacious work desk.
I loved the walk-in closet with dressing area and marble bathroom with bathtub and separate walk-in rain shower. Luxury toiletries by Asprey London were a bonus! I can tell you, they smell like heaven!
Other standard amenities in each room I liked are the Nespresso coffee machine, the pillow menu and an amazing Dream Mirror 37’’ television. The room almost felt like an oversized luxurious boutique room! Loved it!
Villa Manga has three restaurants: The Lounge, which is more for casual dining where snacks, lunch dishes and cocktails are offered. The menu is pretty varied and I can recommend the creative tapas … they looked absolutely delicious! The Lounge is located in Villa Magna’s stunning lobby area. For a more formal dinner, Restaurant Villa Magna is the place to be! With Amalio Prados as executive chef, this restaurant offers fine dining options in a unique setting. If the weather permits, guests can dine on the terrace. And last (but not least!), their Tse Yand Restaurant offers a Cantonese cuisine. In the menu you will find traditional dishes as well as very sophisticated proposals, such as steam jasmine rice with lotus leafs and the most exquisite dim sums of the city.
We had dinner at Restaurant Villa Magna and enjoyed every single bite of our excellent menu. The chef prepared some of his signatures dishes in tapas portions. We started with the scarlet prawns croquettes and a Granny Smith apple gel, followed by the grilled octopus with Creole chilindron. As a main course, we tried the grilled sea bass with sautéed vegetables and a surf and turf creamy sauce. A must try for dessert are the red berries with gratinated sabayon and hazelnut crumble… So delicious!
The hotel offers luxurious spa facilities. I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing full body treatment during my stay at Villa Manga. Club Wellness by Kiara Kare has a ‘back to basics’ concept with simple and authentic beauty and wellness experiences. Their focus is on true well-being and a healthy life style. I love the fact that they care about the environment as they use 100% ecological and earth-friendly oils and cosmetics products. My therapist did an outstanding job! She was very professional and knowledgeable about the body and the products she used. I totally enjoyed my 60 minute anti-stress relaxing massage with its soft and relaxing with wave-like and indulging maneuvres. She used organic almond oil. Loved every second of this treatment and felt reborn afterwards!
The next day, we had breakfast at Restaurant Villa Magna and again, the food and service were five stars all the way! As it wasn’t too hot in the morning, we enjoyed breakfast outside on the peaceful terrace. There’s a buffet with fresh ingredients and a lot of fresh fruit. There’s also a varied à la carte menu with a lot of choice for prepared eggs, etc.
They also have several high tech meeting and board rooms for any events. Also, for exclusive weddings, this definitely is the place to be!
Villa Magna is a top notch five star hotel, this hotel is an example for many other hotels and offers a very high level of service. Incredible how the manage to be that personal in a very professional way. Hardly ever experienced and oh so nice to notice! I would return in a heartbeat to this jewel! Highly recommended!
