Situated on the beautiful island of Saadiyat, Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas is one of the top beach resorts on the amazing island in Abu Dhabi. This luxurious five star resort has only opened 1,5 year ago and everything still looks brand new.

Location is perfect! It is peacefully located at the beach. It is one of the nicest beaches I have seen throughout the UAE. Louvre Abu Dhabi is only a few kilometers away. Make sure to visit this architectural wonder.

The entrance of the resort is truly spectacular. You enter the large beautifully designed lobby area and immediately notice the fantastic view all over the resort. I couldn’t believe my eyes, it is so beautiful… so peaceful and oh so romantic. When I think of a peaceful stylish five star beach resort, this is exactly what I would expect. Check-in was very efficient and personal. A nice smile and useful information about the resort was offered and the administration only took a few minutes.

This actually was my first experience at a Rotana property and I had high expectations. The brand is well known for its service and overall quality. When I entered the hotel, everything felt right here. After check-in we were escorted to our beautiful Premium room with sea views which was located in the main building. Do note that Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas also has several types of villas. That’s right, the hotel is build up in several buildings and the resort does feel like a small luxurious village. At 45m², our room was huge and the king sized bed was heavenly. I read that several guests actually buy the beds after their stay? I can easily understand why! I loved the lay-out of the room and the minimalistic yet stylish decor.

The semi open bath room has a tub, huge walk-in (rain)shower and large sink. The oversized balcony offered the most amazing views all over the resort and sea.

There is so much to do here and even just walking around the resort is so much fun. It is almost unbelievable how well maintained this place is. I saw staff working and maintaining the gardens each time of the day. There are several types of suites and villas at the resort. They even have access to a private pool. Let me share some pictures with you of the villas. They are mind blowing!

There are 2 main pools located right at the beach. The pools are large and very clean. They are open all year long: they are heated during winter and cooled down during summer. There’s a great laid back ambiance around the pool and beach area with a lot of comfortable loungers. No need to put your towels here to ‘reserve’ your spot in the sun. Pool service was great too, they greet you as soon as you approach the pool area and make sure you’ll have everything you need. Your own ice buckets with complimentary water is offered as well and much appreciated with those hot temperatures in Abu Dhabi! They even provide complimentary flavored water.

There are several secrets spots to be discovered at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas. Let me share some secrets: Aladdin’s Cave is the place to be for kids. Kids have their own pool area with a water slide and … a lazy river! So much fun! They even can enjoy themselves at the cinema zone. Did you know this resort has their own mini golf course? That is right. And the best part: it is all free of charge.

When I was there, I saw several kids playing together, making new friends etc. while the parents were relaxing at the resort.

The awarded Zen the spa at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas is enormous and one of the best spa facilities I have ever seen. They have a spectacular Turkish and Moroccan Hammam and 10 luxuriously designed treatment rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the aromatherapy treatment. This treatment took about 1 hour and will make you feel like reborn! Without any hesitation, this was one of the best spa treatments I have ever experienced! It starts with a relaxing foot bath. After that it was time to relax with a complete body massage using inspiring oil that totally left me with a calm and tranquil feeling. The therapists were very knowledgeable and kind. Make sure to book your treatment here. You won’t be disappointed!

There are several dining options at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas, each impressed me. The first night we had dinner at Turtle Bay Bar & Grill. This unique grill restaurant offers delicious dishes. The hand cut steak tartare was one of the best I’ve ever had. You can request the food to be prepared exactly the way you want it. The potato & herb gnocchi with torn kale and asparagus I ordered was served exactly how I requested it to be. It came with sundried tomatoes, feta cheese and pine nuts. Service was so friendly… They will make sure you are enjoying your time here and every single request has been taken care of with a smile! On the top of that, the location of this place is so peaceful right at the water.

The second night, it was time to explore Si Ristorante Italiano & Bar. Here they serve Italian dishes which tasted excellent. I was happy to find out they don’t only serve pasta … a lot of anti pasti options are available as well. The Sea Bass all Toscana tasted heavenly. It came with oven roasted cannellini beans with rosemary and peperonato. Oh, and do not skip dessert here. Nutella di Cioccolato gelato tasted amazing. So worth the calories!

For dishes around the globe, Sim Sim Restaurant is the right choice. This buffet style restaurant has something to offer for anyone. This is also the restaurant where breakfast is served. The breakfast consists of a very large buffet with endless options. The food is of an excellent quality.

It truly is all about service here! People are so nice, the level of service is very high. I never felt uncomfortable requesting for something and I was greeted every single time I met one of the staff members.

My Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas experience was amazing! From the beginning to the end, everything felt right here! Highly recommended for a romantic getaway in paradise!

Rated as one of the best beach resorts in Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort definitely deserves its good reputation. The hotel is located right on the stunning beach and offers five star facilities. As you would expect from a Jumeirah property, we were greeted with a smile and the staff made us feel at home right from the first moment we stepped in. I immediately knew that this stay was going to be an amazing one … and it was … let me tell you why.

First of all, location location location… Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort is a beach resort with a prime location on Saadiyat Island. The Louvre museum – an architectural master piece – is only a short drive away. The city center of Abu Dhabi is 20 minutes away. Do note that the hotel is offering complimentary shuttle service to the Abu Dhabi mall and the sister hotel Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.

As you know, I visited Jumeirah properties before and was impressed by all of them. They definitely know how to treat their guests and service here is on a very high level. Most staff members remembered my name which made me feel like a VIP guest. Every time I met someone, they were all very warm yet professional.

Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort is one of the newer hotels in the area. Everything looks brand new and feels very ‘2020’. The contemporary minimalistic style is noticeable all over the resort and I loved it. The lobby area is luxuriously designed with some nice features such as the impressive glass blown chandelier which reflects the different colors of the Arabian Guls. The chandelier also refers to water.

We stayed in an Ocean Deluxe room and were pretty impressed. The room was very comfortable, had a good size and had all the amenities I would expect at a high level five star hotel. I appreciated the minimalistic design. The beds are among the best I have ever slept in. It was great to hang out in the room and we couldn’t hear anything from the neighbors. The view we had was the best we could ask for, watching the ocean while enjoying the sun was a blast!

The luxurious bathroom featured an oversized walk-in shower and separate (gorgeous) bath tub! Fancy toiletries were provided. Everything was very clean. They maintain their rooms in an excellent way, several times a day your room will be cleaned and turn down service is provided every night.

Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island not only has room, there are villas as well. They are the perfect choice for families. The villas have their own pools.

There are a lot of fun things to do here at Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island! The pool area for example is just stunning. This is the perfect place for adults to relax and unwind. Palm trees, comfortable loungers, etc. it’s all there! There’s a separate kids pool as well. During the day, soft music is playing which creates a great atmosphere. I must highlight the nice temperature of the water. The beach at Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort is mind blowing! Some even refer to the beaches of the Maldives. with natural white sands and turquoise clear waters. I could spend here days. And spending some hot days at the sea, you need to drink a lot! A very cool thing about this resort is that each guest receives a water bottle which can be refilled at the many water stations all over the resort. The plastic free mentality is pretty impressive. It seems Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort does care about the environment and encourage the guests to think about it. Very nice!

Kindly note that as a Jumeirah guest you have access to the Observation Deck at 300 which is located at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. From up here, you have stunning panoramic views over Abu Dhabi at 300 meters. Very impressive! There’s a complimentary shuttle service available at several times a day to/from Jumeirah at Etihad Towers and the Abu Dhabi Mall which is the place to be for shopping.

The Talise spa area is one of the nicest I have experienced. The place is just beautiful … It is like entering a world of pure relaxation. Fantastic, I loved it! Decorated with high quality materials, relaxing music and the most wonderful staff … This is how every spa area should be like! I thoroughly enjoyed my treatment here. The therapist was a professional and advised me to use the steam room before she started the treatment. A great advice! It definitely stimulated the muscles. I felt like reborn after the treatment, like I could handle the world 🙂 I highly recommend to book a spa treatment here! Oh, by the way, you can use a vitality pool after your treatment to even more relax.

Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort has several dining options. Let me start with ‘White’. This is the buffet restaurant and is definitely an eye catcher! Decoration is fantastic, the way they combined the colors with all the decoration and furniture is lovely. We were both very impressed and not only by the decoration, also the food was just delicious. Each morning, they serve a delicious breakfast. It is one of the best breakfasts I have ever experienced. All the food items were of such a good quality. The large buffet will please anyone. Make sure to check out their frozen smoothies! You will love them! I didn’t have lunch as the food from the breakfast buffet was so good and I just had to try everything 😊 At night, there’s an East meets West buffet with show cooking stations.

We had lunch at Mare Mare. This beach side Italian cuisine restaurant is the perfect spot for a delicious lunch with sea views. The semi open restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and offers only the best of the best! The tartare di salmone which came with vzenere rice, figs, goat cheese and polenta crisp was delicious as was the Carpaccio di branzino… a sea bass ceviche with a citrus truffle dressing and pistachio. Thumbs up for chef de cuisine, Simone Federico!

At night, I had dinner at Tean, their signature Levantine restaurant and is known for grilled spiced meats and seafood, all prepared the traditional Levantine way. The Head Chef, Mahmoud Bayoumi, is a true professional and makes sure each guest will have a great time. The Samak Seabass fillet tasted wonderful. It was perfectly prepared with olive oil, sage, garlic and butter. The smoked shallot was a perfect match! Of course, we tried a selection of yummie mezze, a must try!

A stay at Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island is always top notch… Of course, it’s a Jumeirah property after all! I can not say enough good things about this resort. Location is great, food is yummie, rooms are luxurious and the service level is unseen. Highly recommended for a luxurious Abu Dhabi getaway!

The famous Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is the flagship of the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Group. The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was the first hotel in Thailand and is more than 140 years old, it was built in 1876. Today it is still one of world’s best hotels. Actually, it has been rated as world’s best hotel for 10 years and I can easily understand why. I was so fortunate to stay here and truly was and still am blown away by the service and comfort they provide.

Location

You can’t beat the location, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is located right next to the Chao Phraya River and the most popular tourist sites are nearby. The public boat will take you to the Grand Palace in just about 15 minutes.

This ultra-luxurious five star hotel offers 324 rooms and 44 suites, a world-class spa and several high end restaurants which I will tell you more about later.

As soon as I entered this palace, I noticed the attention to details. The way they combined the elegant Thai style with seductive modern touches is just wonderful. Mandarin Oriental hotels are known for their hospitality and service. Several staff members actually remembered my name. Those are small things, but they make a world difference. Every single staff member I met, greeted me with a smile and took care of every request in a very kind and professional way. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a traditional Thai flower hand garland.

Rooms/suites

We stayed in a deluxe room and luxurious it definitely was. They decorated the rooms in a very elegant and very classy way. The leather couch was great for watching television. I could have spent here all day long 🙂 The view over the river and Bangkok’s surroundings was great. I watched the long tail boats floating by while enjoying some drinks. This is what a perfect hotel room looks like. Even the marble bathroom was an eye catcher featuring a separate bath tub and walk-in shower. The silk bathrobes were amazing. Another feature I appreciated very much was the in-room interactive entertainment system which allows iPod/MP3 integration. The high quality audio system was of a very good quality. All rooms at the Mandarin Oriental come with Butler Service, always a bonus! Did you know that the Mandarin Oriental has one of the highest staff to guest room ratio in the entire hotel industry (3 staff per guest room)!

The recently redecorated rooms at the Author’s Wing are very stylish and the Royal Suite which I visited was the best and most luxurious suite I have ever seen, hands down!

Restaurants/bars

At night we had dinner at Sala Rim Naam offering an authentic Thai cuisine, but first we had some cocktails at the Bamboo bar. It was pretty hard to choose from the extensive cocktail menu but the very knowledgeable bartender gave us some good recommendations.   While we were enjoying the delicious Thai food (I LOVE Thai food!), we were enjoying a classical Thai dance show. We were in Bangkok for just a few days and this was the perfect evening to experience the true Thai tradition and hospitality. I thoroughly likes the Mussamun Nuea, the southern style beef curry with sweet potato and onion. The menu was prepared in an excellent way and service was top notch! Although there’s a smart casual dress code where they kindly request guests to wear elegant attire, the atmosphere was very relaxed and easy going.

Pool area

The next morning I started my day with a swim in the stunning pool. There are two pools, a wading pool which is perfect for leisure and a 25 metre long pool which is ideal for swimming laps. As soon as I approached the pool area, staff member greeted me and gave me some plush towels and some water. Although the Mandarin Oriental is right in the middle of Bangkok, it felt like a hidden gem here. It was so quiet here… fantastic way to start my day! Beside the pools, a full fitness center is available 24 hrs. They offer complimentary fitness classes… After your work out you can relax in the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi. And if you are into tennis and/or squash, the Mandarin Oriental has two outdoor tennis courts and one squash court.

Spa facilities

If you just want to relax make sure you visit the Spa facilities which are located in a separate building across the river. The spa of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is one of Asia’s leading spa center offering several beautifully decorated treatment rooms and steam facilities. They even have a few ‘specialty suites’ for couples with private steam showers and vitality pools.

I enjoyed a after-jet-lag treatment and absolutely loved it! After selecting my favorite scent I felt so relaxed and almost fell asleep which is a huge compliment. Just take a look at their spa menu as they offer several kind of treatments.

Then it was time for breakfast! Breakfast is served at the Riverside Terrace and believe me, having breakfast here with such a stunning view is just awesome! Quality of the food was outstanding! The riverside terrace offers stunning views. I enjoyed the long tail boats passing by. Service was great, never was asked for too much. Do try their home made yoghurt and pastries!

No wonder the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is well known for its service and overall facilities! The high reputation is well deserved and I can easily understand why this hotel is one of world’s leading hotels! From the personal printed writing paper with your name on it to the fresh flowers all over the room… The Thai hospitality is amazing and I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Six stars all the way!

The Library Hotel is rated as one of the top 5 hotels in New York city. The Library Hotel Collection has 4 hotels in New York City. And guess what, they are all rated as one of the best hotels in town. This time I explored the Library hotel. I had high expectations, but still was totally blown away by this property. Having stayed at many high end properties, this hotel was beyond words and I can’t say enough good things about this place.

First of all, the location is amazing. Right in the center of Manhattan and within walking distance to the major attractions. Still you are in a private gem with all the luxury amenities one could wish for. Guests are treated like royalty here and nothing is asked for too much here. The personal approach is highly appreciated and one of the key factors of the Library Hotel. Also, Bookmarks is a must visit when you stay at the Library Hotel. This rooftop bar is one of the best we experiences in New York! The hotel also has its own restaurant Madison & Vine.

Once I stepped in, I was greeted by the most accommodating staff who made me feel at ease right from the first second. I immediately noticed the luxurious style of this hotel. There are many elements in the hotel which refer to the library theme. Over 6000 books are available so there’s no time to get bored.

As usual at any Library Collection Hotel, there’s a “Reading room’ on the second floor with complimentary sweets and hot drinks and water throughout the day. Each night guests can enjoy a complimentary Cheese & Wine reception. It is included in all rates and is one of the highlights of the hotel. It is great to hang out and meet new friends. We had so much fun and the food was delicious.

After exploring the living room it was time to explore our room. I stayed in a deluxe room and again was very satisfied. The room had a great size for New York standards. No standard furniture here, all items is of such a high quality. I fell at home here which is unique. The room had a nice cozy sitting area with the most comfortable couch. The king sized bed was to die for.

The Library Hotel offers many in room amenities such as extra blankets, pillows, etc. but also ear plugs and a space heater. They even offer SleepPhones which are like pajamas for your ears that block noise and play soothing music. I absolutely loved it! I just had to dial 0 and a few seconds later they were happy to bring it to the room.

Turn down service is provided every night. They offer complimentary water to their guests which is the perfect way to start a comfortable night. We requested the featherbed mattress topper which we really loved. It was like sleeping on a cloud.

The next day, we started our day with a delicious breakfast on the second floor. Do note that each guest can enjoy a wonderful breakfast which is included in each rate. From fresh fruit to yummie pastries, it’s all there and we loved it. On the top floor, there’s another ‘Living room’ where you can relax and enjoy and read a good book.

It is all about service here. The staff is among the most professional and accommodating I have ever experienced.  As said before, after spending so many night at so many high end hotels in New York, it is great to still be impressed by hotels like the Library Hotel. I can’t wait to stay at another Library Collection property and will make sure to choose this hotel when I am back in town. After having stayed for ‘only’ one night, the Library Hotel is my home away from home. The place to be for a luxurious getaway in New York, I am in love…

We all know Steigenberger as a luxury brand. They have hotels all over the world and are known for their high quality standards. I was very excited to explore and experience Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg in Königswinter. Having stayed at many high end five star properties, this hotel was beyond words and I can’t say enough good things about this place.

First of all, the location is amazing. The hotel is located on the hill of Petersberg. At a height of 360m the views over the surrounding areas are gorgeous! Watching the river Rhine from up here is so peaceful. The city of Bonn is only 15 minutes away by car. When you enter the hotel, you are in a private gem with all the luxury amenities one could wish for. Guests are treated like royalty here and nothing is asked for too much here. The personal approach is highly appreciated and one of the key factors of Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg.

The hotel wasn’t built as a hotel. It first was a guesthouse of the federal government in Bonn-Königswinter. The hotel has been completely renovated over the last years and now is a top notch five star palace where there’s a surprise waiting for you behind every single corner.

Once I stepped in, I was greeted by the most accommodating staff who made me feel at ease right from the first second. I immediately realized I was in a grand luxury hotel. The furniture feels very luxurious. It is all about the details here. Check-in was very efficient and after I received my key, I couldn’t wait to explore my room! There are 112 rooms at Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg. For such a large building, that’s pretty interesting and that’s why this hotel is able to provide a wonderful personalized service.

I stayed in a Grand Deluxe room with a Rhine view and again was very satisfied. The room had a great size. No standard furniture here, all items (and I litterly mean every item/product/…) is of such a high quality. I felt at home here which is unique. The room had a nice cozy sitting area with the most comfortable couches. The king sized bed was to die for. I loved the décor, this is how every five star hotel room should look like. Features I especially appreciated was the Pillow menu. I tried the ‘cool down’ and the ‘spelt lavender’ pillows and loved them! You should try them as well when you’re there 😊 I had a great view over the river Rhine which was just gorgeous!

One of the highlights of Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg is the spa area. It is the perfect place to unwind and relax after exploring the area. It is so quiet and peaceful… and the décor is so relaxing. There’s an indoor pool, a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna and steam room. I loved the lounge chairs in the relaxation area offering stunning views. There’s a full sized fitness center as well with the latest technology equipment.

There are several dining options. From the more casual restaurant Charles Bistro and Café offering a classic French cuisine to the more formal Bill’s Restaurant & Grill. I must say I was blown away after my visit at Bill’s Restaurant & Grill. This is the place I had two dinners. First of all, the restaurant is beautifully designed. It’s really “2020” and is overlooking the Rhine. Fun fact, this restaurant is named after Bill Clinton. In 1994 he met with Chancellor Helmut Kohl on Petersberg. Not did I only like the food, the service was top notch as well. Speaking of food, this is the place for a fine dining experience. Let me share some highlights with you: the tomato variation was among the best I have ever had. The dessert ‘Gateaux of Ikatuja Chocolate’ was to die for, it tasted soooooo good. The next day I’ve had the pleasure to dine again at Bill’s Restaurant & Grill. I loved the cauliflower soup, mushroom risotto and strawberry pannacotta.

If you are into wine and champagne, make sure to visit Vinothek Wine & Champagne. Here you will find the adhacent and well-stocked wine collection. Served with snacks and hors d’oeuvres, an enjoyable night is guaranteed!

Breakfast is served at the Royal Gallery. I watched the sun come up while I enjoyed a delicious cappuccino. The buffet is large and offers something for everyone. I appreciated the many healthy options.

Don’t forget to have a look at the grand ballroom. The host a lot of weddings here. I can imagine that celebrating your wedding here is pretty unique!

It is all about service here. The staff is among the most accommodating I have ever experienced. Each staff member I met was a professional. As said before, after spending so many night at so many five star hotels, it is great to still be impressed by hotels like Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg. I can’t wait to stay here again and will make to choose this hotel when I am in the area. After having stayed for ‘only’ two nights, this hotel is my home away from home. The place to be for a luxurious getaway in Bonn / Königswinter, I am in love…

You can’t beat the location. The surrounding areas are just gorgeous. I fell in love with the region the hotel is located in. It is oh so peaceful. Winterberg  is just a short drive from the hotel which is an excellent town for sightseeing and skiing. Right next to the hotel is a ski lift which will take you to Kahler Asten, a small ski area. Very convenient! Also, make sure to explore Rothaargebirge, a stunning nature park located near Dorint Hotel & Sportresort Winterberg/Sauerland.

The hotel itself is very stylish and cozy decorated. We were welcomed by the most friendly front desk staff. This is German hospitality and we love it! The lobby area is very nice and make you feel at home in seconds. The authentic atmosphere throughout the hotel is impressive and much appreciated. Although the hotel has been built several years ago, they almost completely renovated the hotel in 2017. It now is an up to date four star hotel with excellent facilities and the most comfortable rooms. It is impressive that being a hotel with 121 rooms, they are still able to provide a personal approach. Very impressive! Dorint Hotel & Sportresort Winterberg/Sauerland also has several apartments which can accommodate up to 5 adults.

The Comfort room we stayed in was absolutely stunning! What a great and cozy room this was! The wooden floors and ceilings add extra coziness. The room had all the facilities I expect from a four star hotel such as the Nespresso coffee machine, a very comfortable bed and the best feature: a cozy sitting area with the most comfortable chairs to relax. Do note that each room is also equipped with a tablet which I found very convenient. I used it a lot during my stay for browsing the web, checking the weather, etc. The balcony with a lovely view was a bonus!

Bathroom was spacious and featured a great walk-in shower. Fluffy bathrobes and towels are available as well.

Another highlight is the spa area. Located on the lower floor, this place is perfect for unwinding and relaxing after a day on the ski slopes. The modernized indoor swimming pool is gorgeous and pretty large! Next to the swimming pool is another area for relaxing with a steam room, traditional and infra red sauna. There are also many relaxation areas for chilling. The entire place was very well maintained and it was never too crowded.

There are several dining options at Dorint Hotel & Sportresort Winterberg/Sauerland such as Restaurant Fürst Richard which serves international dishes. Small dishes are available at the bar.

After a wonderful night in our romantic room, we were ready for breakfast. Having breakfast at Château St. Gerlach is something to look forward to! The buffet is very large and the overall quality of the food is outstanding. Salmon, fresh fruit, etc. It is all there.

I was very impressed with Dorint Hotel & Sportresort Winterberg/Sauerland and highly recommend staying there for a sporty getaway. There’s so much to do and I’m sure that during summer season you won’t get bored here either. I will be back for sure!
