The recently opened Château de Picheny is a jewel in the gorgeous Champagne region in France. Located right at the border of this region in the countryside of Aisne Champenoise, you really can’t beat the location. All the beautiful small villages and Epernay with the famous Avenue de Champagne are just a short drive away and also other famous attractions such as the Memorial of the Battles of the Marne-Dormans are nearby.

This small boutique Château truly is what every B&B should look like. Initially it was a Château built in the 19^th century. Nowadays, the small castle is an up to date luxurious boutique château B&B with all the amenities one could wish for.

Château de Picheny only has 3 rooms (I’d rather call them “suites” though) which gives this place a true boutique feeling. From the moment I stepped in, I was pampered. The small lobby area is very accommodating, cosy and decorated with style. The reason why I love those small hotels is that they offer an exceptional and personal experience. As you could expect, service at Château de Picheny is top notch and probably is the key factor why this B&B is so unique and exceptional. The hosts – Vincent and Eric – are so kind and yet professional. They will do their upmost best to make you feel at ease!

We stayed in one of their 3 suites with an amazing garden view. The suite we stayed in was very luxurious featuring high quality materials and furnishings. The bed was among the most comfortable I have slept in. Each suite has its own separate living area with pull out coach. It definitely was one of the most romantic rooms I stayed at!

Bathroom was luxurious and featured separate (rain)shower and free standing bath tub. High quality toiletries are provided as well.

The garden is a hidden gem at the château. Even if the weather does not permit, the cozy salon inside the hotel is such a beautiful place. Decorated with large drapes and chandeliers, it is the perfect place for romantic moments. It is nice to just walk around in the château as there is a surprise waiting for you behind almost every corner.

There is no full service restaurant on site, but Château de Picheny does offer a possible table d’hôte occasionally. Vincent is an exceptional chef! He prepared a delicious meal for us with local specialties. The snails and duck were to die for! And the tarte tatin was heavenly!

Every morning, a buffet breakfast is serves downstairs in the very stylish breakfast room. Again, I loved the typical castle decoration and touches. The food itself was outstanding and they offer several healthy options such a lot of fruit, juices, etc. The home made granola with local goat cheese and yoghurt were delicious!

Château de Picheny is one of the most beautiful B&Bs I have stayed at and highly recommend to book your suite here if you’re looking for a typical Château in the middle of Champagne region! It felt like a home away from home and that truly is unique! Can’t wait to stay here again!
