Le Méridien Hamburg is a hotel located near the city center of Hamburg. It was the first time I stayed at a Méridien hotel and was very curious and excited to check out this hotel. This five star hotel has it all … from the luxurious rooms to the roof top restaurant and bar with the most amazing views of the Aussen Alster lake. Right from the beginning, I knew that this hotel stay would be flawless. The lobby area is just stunning and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. What a great start at this Méridien hotel!

The room we stayed in was luxurious and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable hotel stay: a very comfortable couch, working desk and a wonderful bathroom with separate walk-in shower and bath tub. The room was very cozy and I loved the lighted backside of the beds. Great touch! The Nespresso machine and bathrobes made my stay even more pleasant. I do need to mention that the beds are of a great quality. It was lovely to spend time in this room…

For me, one of the top features of Le Méridien Hamburg is their restaurant Heritage which is located on the top floor of the hotel. It offers the most stunning views over the lake.  The first night while we were in Hamburg we had dinner and I can honestly say that they served me one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Right from the beginning to the end, our restaurant experience was flawfless, food was outstanding and service was excellent. The sommelier did a great job, providing us with the right wines with the right dishes. The chef uses excellent ingredients and every dish looked like a painting. And having such a good dinner with such an incredible view … we were in heaven!

After an evening walk, we took the panoramic elevator (be sure to check that one out J) and have a drink at the bar. It was the perfect way to end our beautiful day.

Another great thing about this hotel is the spa area with a large indoor pool, sauna and steam room. It is a great place to relax and unwind. Next to the spa area is a large fitness facility equipped with up to date equipment. Again, service was excellent and nothing was asked for too much! Loved it! Bath robes can be found in the room!

After spending several nights here, we always looked forward to having breakfast in the restaurant upstairs. Le Méridien Hamburg offers a fantastic breakfast buffet to their guests. Anything you want is there and even requested beans in tomato sauce which they served in just minutes. The sparkling wine is a bonus, by the way!

Be sure to check out their new bar downstairs, Latitude. I really liked the hip and trendy atmosphere!

I LOVED our stay at Le Méridien Hamburg and am not surprised that it is rated as one of the best five star hotels in the city. I would rate every facility here with five stars, from the rooms to the most wonderful staff one could wish for! Excellent choice when you are in Hamburg!

The Atlantic Kempinski in Hamburg is a classical five star hotel and is rated as one of the best hotels in Hamburg! I was happy to spend a few days here and had the best time! The location is perfect, it is not in the middle of the city center so it is not that busy but you can reach the center by foot in just minutes. Excellent!

Right from the beginning we were greeted by the check-in staff and our keys were handed in just seconds. As soon as I saw the stunning lobby area, I knew that the Atlantic Kempinski is a high class five star property. In 2012 they renovated all of their guestrooms and several other parts of the hotel. The maritime theme is noticeable throughout the entire hotel! Very nicely done!

The room we stayed in was very comfortable and luxuriously appointed. I just loved it and as said before, they are totally up to date as they were all renovated recently. From the high ceilings to the marble bathrooms, everything felt right. The beds are amazing… and I was happy to be able to relax in the comfortable chair after a full day of shopping in Hamburg. The Nespresso machine and comfortable bath robes were appreciated. They seem to be cleaning here all day long and our room has been maintained in an excellent way!  At night, turn down service is provided as well.

On the second floor, there’s a health club which is accessible at no additional charges. The large indoor pool has a great size and I found the water temperature excellent. Although the hotel was almost fully booked when we were there, it never seemed to be very busy at the pool. They have one infrared and one traditional sauna. Next to the pool is a small gym.
Oh, by the way, did you know that they have their small private cinema here? That is right, guests can choose between hundreds of movies. So cool!

At night, before going to bed, we decided to go down and have a coffee. The comfortable leather couches are perfect for some people watching and just doing nothing. The open fireplace made it even more relaxing. This was our perfect end of the day! Again, on our way to our room I was impressed by the hallways and overall decoration of the hotel. Very nice, very classy 🙂

There’s a full service Atlantic restaurant which offers delicious dishes and is decorated in a classic and very stylish way. This is where they serve breakfast as well. As usual at any Kempinski hotel, breakfast is amazing and the buffet offers something for anyone! Service was very professional and nothing was asked for too much! I particularly loved the freshly prepared smoothies! They are lovely and a must try!

No wonder the Atlantic Kempinski hotel in Hamburg is rated among the best hotels in the city. I highly recommend staying here… Rooms are large and luxurious, food is great, the indoor pool is relaxing after a day in busy Hamburg and most importantly, the staff is wonderful! Thumbs up, Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg!
