Do you know the feeling when you walk into a hotel and immediately feel at home? I had this feeling at Sofitel Frankfurt Opera! This top notch five star hotel only opened one year ago and definitely is one of my favorite hotels in Frankfurt! The hotel is located on one of the prime locations in the city, on the iconic Opernplatz. I explored the neighborhood and noticed the fancy luxury shops around the hotel. All major things you should visit in Frankfurt are within walking distance. The friendly concierge gave me a map and some helpful tips on things I needed to see.

As mentioned before, I was impressed with this hotel right from the beginning. The intimate lobby area is impressive with all its art work. Sofitel worked together with several interior designers such as the Parisian designer Nicholas Adnet and Berlin designer Frank Stüve. Everything is translated in the feel of 17th and 18th century Parisian hotels. Trust me, this is not just an ordinary hotel, behind every corner, a new surprise is waiting for you! Let me share some pictures of the beautiful art work I noticed at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera.

The Junior Suite I stayed in was very large and luxuriously appointed. All the amenities I would expect from a five star luxury hotel were there such as coffee making facilities, mirror television and (of course!) Sofitel’s MyBed… Still one of my favorite beds! The suite also had a nice sitting area with the most comfortable couches and a nice working desk with designer touches such as the fancy designer phone (it is ALL about details!).

Bathroom was very large featuring a bathtub, a large walk-in (rain)shower and fancy Hermes toiletries. Some highlights of the bathroom were the Skinjay shower capsules and the Japanese toilet with electrical control elements. Skinjay capsules revolutionize the shower experience, delivering nutrients straight to your skin. It is a true in-room spa experience! They have different capsules for you to experience. I tried several and recommend the ‘Pschhht’ capsule with a Cola (!) smell. Truly surprising! I need to point out that only suites have the capsules and electronic toilet (request for an upgrade upon arrival, if they have any suites available they might upgrade you for a small surcharge).

Sofitel Frankfurt Opera has on site spa facilities. The hotel has a partnership with the neighboring Fitness First and guests of the hotel can use the (large) indoor pool and sauna/hammam facilities at no additional charge. Do note that the hotel has its own (small) gym.

The hotel offers several beauty treatments. I thoroughly enjoyed the Skin-Body-Mind treatment by Decleor. A treatment that incorporates the body and face through the products used by Decleor. The therapist was a true professional! She first showed me around the spa facilities. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and facilities. The place is just beautiful and peacefully decorated. This is the perfect place to unwind. She explained what she was going to do and I do appreciate that as some people just start a treatment without any explanation. The 90’ that followed were true relaxing. The pressure was perfect as requested. I must highlight the Decleor product which are high quality products. Highly recommend to book a treatment here! You won’t be disappointed!

Another highlight at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera is the Schönemann restaurant and Lili’s wine bar. Both are named after the first great love of famed German author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who was born in Frankfurt in 1749. Dinner at the Schönemann restaurant was delicious! I started with the freshly sliced yellow fin tuna tartar with wasabi cream and coriander, one of the best I’ve ever had! The dry aged rib-eye from butcher Ludwig as a main course was to die for and prepared just the way I asked for. I always have some space for dessert, the crème brûlée cake of Bourbon vanilla was fantastic! Yes, it was a cake with some fresh fruit and some crème brûlée on the top.

This is also the place where they serve breakfast. Breakfast at Sofitel Frankfurt Opera is something to look forward to! It consists of an extensive buffet and several à la carte options. A bonus is the complimentary sparkling wine! A must try is the apple crumble pie… Loved it!

I can’t say enough good things about the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera. This well designed hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Frankfurt with an intimate yet stylish design. This is not a hotel just for business travelers, also leisure travelers will appreciate the unique prime location and facilities. Can’t wait to return to this jewel!

Located near the old center of Warsaw, the Sofitel Victoria is one of the best hotels Warsaw has to offer! It is one of the oldest hotels in the city, but they completely renovated most of the place and now it is a very trendy and classy five star hotel. From the lounge music playing in the lobby to the most friendly welcome, the arrival at the Sofitel Warsaw was great! I loved the lobby lounge, the furniture is totally up to date and in a great state. The check-in staff told us everything we needed to know about the hotel and surrounding areas.

We stayed in a deluxe room. And luxurious it was! Sofitel is known for their MyBeds and believe me, it feels like sleeping on a cloud… it is so heavenly soft! The room decoration is nice and it was great to relax on the chaise longue after spending a day in beautiful Warsaw. Amenities I appreciated particulary are the Nespresso coffee machine and high quality toiletries of Hermes. The bathroom had an oversized rain shower with good water pressure. The Bose sound system in the rooms is a bonus! The room we had, had a great view of the Saski garden. Very nice view!

The indoor pool is worth a special mention, it is one of the nicest indoor pools I have ever seen! The ceilings with mirrors are stunning. The light effects make it even more special. You just have to visit the pool while you’re there! Besides the gorgeous pool, the Sofitel Warsaw has a fitness facility and full spa with several treatments.

At night we had dinner in Le Victoria Brasserie. We had a three course and thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. From the light carpaccio with vegetables and cheeses to the steak and yummie marcarpone, the food was of a very high standard. This is not just a hotel restaurant, it is a full service classy place with a high level of service.

Breakfast is served at Kitchen Gallery and, as expected, the buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot and cold choices!

Again, service here was top notch. Sofitel is known for their great service and the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria has convinced me once more. I had the feeling that every guest was treated in a very personal, professional and caring way. Thumbs up, all the way!

Life is magnifique? It sure is at the Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm! This 5 star hotel is located in a very central spot in Berlin surrounded by shops and historic sightseeing must-sees. It is fully operated by Sofitel since February 2014 (it used to be the Concorde hotel). The Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm is within walking distance of the Berlin statue and the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtenis-Kirche. Actually, before I got here I wasn’t sure if I would like this side of Berlin, but actually I loved it! There is so much to do in this neighborhood.

We stayed in a deluxe twin bedroom. The room had a good size. Bathroom has double sinks, separate shower, separate toilet and bid. The rooms at the Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm are about the largest Berlin has to offer. The decoration is modern and also has this “Asian” feeling without being over the top. Some of you may already know the MyBeds Sofitel offers to their guests? It always is a pleasure to sleep in one of their beds! It feels like sleeping on a cloud and it is so relaxing after a day of walking in the city.

Before dinner, I wanted to lose some calories so I went to the gym on the second floor. The hotel offers great fitness facilities and a fully equipped spa area with sauna and steam room. After working out it is great to chill down in the relaxing area with comfortable chairs.
Bathrobes and slippers can be found in the rooms.

The Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm has 2 restaurants: the Faubourg (French cuisine) and a restaurant for breakfast. In the lobby bar guests can have light snacks and meals.  We had dinner at the Faubourg, but had a cocktail in the lounge bar first. I had a mojito and to be honest, it was one of the best ones I have ever had (and I am a mojito addict so I know what I’m talking about :)).

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and truly has this modern and young vibe. The food was delicious. I can highly recommend the filet steak with Café de Paris butter, which was (again) one of the best I’ve ever had! Service again was top-notch, not snobby and they really make you feel at ease. Very nice! The sommelier is a very kind guy with an outstanding knowledge of wines.

Breakfast was good (as always – it is a Sofitel) and all the items were fresh and of a good quality: sparkling wine, lots of sweet items (waffles, pancakes, etc.), fruit, etc. Very large buffet with excellent service!

I recommend staying at the Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm, great rooms, great food and heavenly beds!
