Van der Valk Nivelles Sud is a modern four star hotel with a convenient location, not far from Brussels. I have great experiences with Van der Valk hotels and had to try this one too, of course! In 2019 the hotel has been expanded with a brand new building. A bonus: free parking!

The lobby area is pretty large with a stylish design. The reception staff made me feel welcome and were very professional explaining everything I needed to know about the hotel and facilities. I stayed at the hotel during the Covid19 pandemic and was really impressed by how clean the hotel was. The measurements they take to prevent the guests are very good! Again, it is always nice to feel at ease at a hotel and this was definitely the case here.




As mentioned before, Van der Valk Nivelles Sud has a brand new building since 2019 with new rooms. I stayed in a large Executive room. The design looking rooms at Van der Valk Nivelles are very comfortable and offer up to date facilities. There was a nice sitting area and a large working desk. A nice feature is the free minibar which was filled with non-alcoholic drinks. Each Executive room and suite comes with a personal tablet which is handy to find any information about the hotel or it can be used to simply browse the internet. I highly recommend upgrading your room to a new Executive room or suite! You won’t be disappointed!




The large bath room had an amazing separate walk-in shower. Fancy toiletries are provided, as well as bathrobes and slippers when you stay in an Executive room or suite. The room also had a separate toilet. Always nice!



I am in love with the spa area at Van der Valk Nivelles Sud. The place is just beautiful and has one of the most beautiful indoor pool I have seen anywhere! It is just stunning… and it never was too crowded. The water temperature was excellent – not too cold, not too warm. This definitely is a nice place to spend some time with your loved ones. Especially in the jacuzzi. There’s also a good sized sauna and steam room. Access is of course included in your stay. Do note that there’s also an outdoor pool which is operational during the summer months. There’s also a good sized fitness facility. For the comfort of both the rooms and spa area, Van der Valk Nivelles Sud actually has an excellent price/quality ratio!




I ordered room service and tried one of their burgers. As expected, it didn’t disappoint! What a great looking burger! My Cocorico burger had a delicious breaded chicken, cheddar cheese (of course 😊), Brie, lettuce, tomato, onion and mustard mayonnaise. Service truly was very personal and kind. The overall menu looked great and varied. And.. there’s always room for dessert! The Brussels waffle with whipped cream and fresh fruit was the perfect way to end my beautiful day at Van der Valk Nivelles Sud! Again, since I was there during the Covid19 pandemic, I had to dine in my room. Normally, Van der Valk Nivelles Sud has a full service restaurant and bar.






After a wonderful night, I was totally ready for breakfast. As usual at any Van der Valk hotel, breakfast is something to look forward to. Each item I ate was of an excellent quality. The large buffet was impressive. Some surprises I’d love to share are the freshly squeezed orange juice and the Danette pudding. Loved it! Honestly, this breakfast was the best I have experienced over the last months! Make sure you book your breakfast with your stay.

Van der Valk Nivelles Sud is an excellent four star hotel with great facilities. I must also highlight the staff which made my stay very special. Again, the rates at this hotel are very reasonable and do remember that access to the wonderful wellness area is included. Highly recommended!

Hotel Vianen is a gracious hotel that offers all the facilities of a high class hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near the highway and Utrecht is only 15 minutes away. But even when you are not visiting Utrecht or the surrounding areas, there are so many things to do here! Let me tell you why I like this hotel that much …

First of all, the Dutch hospitality is noticeable throughout your stay. Van der Valk hotels is a Dutch hotel chain and people that work in hotel will do their upmost best to offer you a nice and easy going hotel experience. From the moment I entered the hotel, I felt home. The lobby area is accommodating and gives a good first impression. I loved the fire place. The reception staff was very kind and knowledgeable about the hotel and its facilities. Everything we needed to know was explained in a professional way.

Hotel Vianen has 200 comfortable rooms. Do note that from the outside you wouldn’t expect such a nice and classy interior. The hotel has undergone several renovations and is totally up to date. I was surprised to see how nicely decorated the entire hotel was. Rooms are – again – very comfortable and spacious – as usual at any Van der Valk hotels. A huge bonus: each room at hotel Vianen has a whirlpool tub! Perfect for relaxing and romantic moments!

Most Van der Valks offer theme suites. I was fortunate to stay at the Ibiza Suite and was blown away! Incredible how they managed to create such a great ambiance in the room. From the wooden floors to the giant jacuzzi. I loved it all. The suite has a nice cozy sitting area with adjoining sleeping area. The fireplace lookalike that separates the living from sleeping area is nicely done!

The huge jacuzzi is the center piece of the bathroom. The Ibiza Suite even comes with a sauna and steam room. All is decorated in the Ibiza theme. It is all about the details here such as the nice champagne bucket and bright colors throughout the entire room.

The onsite restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had dinner here and the chef didn’t disappoint us, in fact we were pleasantly surprised with each dish. We started with a delicious red beet carpaccio which tasted excellent. The mixed grill which came with glazed carrots as a main course made me feel in heaven. And no dinner without a dessert J We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious moelleux au chocolat with vanilla sauce and caramel ice cream. Hotel Vianen offers a great ‘Dinerdeal’: for 32,50 EUR per person you can chose from several starters, main courses and desserts. Fantastic value for money! Also, if you are not staying at the hotel, you are more than welcome at the restaurant for a delicious meal.

It would be pretty difficult (let’s say, impossible) to get bored at Hotel Vianen! Their Wellness Club is a must visit while staying here! The indoor swimming pool is gorgeous and guests can make use of the sauna and steam room as well at no additional charges. If you want to stay in shape, be sure to check out the fitness facility. The large fitness club is great. All staff members I met were the most accommodating and caring people one could wish for.

The next morning, after a nice swim, I enjoyed breakfast. As usual, breakfast at Van der Valk is something to look forward to. The buffet style breakfast at hotel Vianen is of a great quality. There’s something for anyone. I appreciated the large selection of granola. Again, service here was top notch. What a great way to start our day!

Van der Valk Vianen is one of a kind, I love everything about this hotel… from the most comfortable rooms to the best staff making my stay truly unforgettable! Can’t wait to return to this wonderful hotel!

The Hotel Beveren is a comfortable four star hotel near Antwerp. This hotel truly surprised me and from the moment I stepped in this hotel, the most accommodating staff made me feel at home in just seconds. Some highlights of my stay: the suite I stayed in, the quality of food at the restaurant De Mangerie and the most amazing wellness center I visited in Belgium!

As soon as you enter the hotel Beveren, you immediately notice the reception area with the beautiful Ozzo lounge right opposite the check-in desk. Since I am not a sushi fan myself, I did hear amazing things about the restaurant. It is mentioned in the Gault Millau guide with 13 points. I did have a drink there and appreciated the overall trendy décor and ambiance. It was busy at night and all guests seemed to have a great time.

Check-in was very efficient and friendly. Everything I needed to know about the hotel and its facilities were mentioned. What a great start!

I stayed in the VIP suite and was blown away when I entered the room. How beautiful is this suite? This is the perfect room for couples. With soft colors and up to date furniture the suite is absolutely amazing. The oversized bathroom is just stunning featuring a free standing bath tub, large walk-in rain shower, traditional sauna and double sink. The sauna is easy to manage and only takes a few minutes to warm up. The bathroom amenities are of a great quality. As I told before, I kind of felt at home in this room which is kind of unique and I can’t tell you exactly why… Maybe it is the cozy décor… Maybe the lay-out of the room… It probably is a mix of all those elements. I also visited some other suites and all have different themes and lay-outs. Even the standard rooms at the Hotel Beveren are of a good standard.

At night, we had dinner at De Mangerie and to be honest, the overall quality of food and service were outstanding! Staff was very friendly and answered all the questions we had with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-course menu. Every single bite was just delicious! As a main course, I enjoyed the grilled plaice which was to die for… The Dame Blanche was one of the best I have ever had! Also, presentation was flawless! Dishes are reasonably priced. Staff was efficient and nothing was asked for too much. Always nice to have a little chat between the dishes. Also, great wine recommendations!

Breakfast is served here as well and Van der Valk is quite known for their excellent breakfast buffets. The breakfast at the Hotel Beveren didn’t disappoint! Plenty of choice and I loved the fresh orange juice and pancakes. Be sure to check them out when you’re there.

After the wonderful breakfast it was time for some me-time at the Boost wellness center. As soon as I entered the wellness, I felt zen. You first enter the pool area. The pool is quite big and again, the soft colors are relaxing. Next to the pool is the spa area. For a small additional charge, you can enjoy a full spa experience. Be sure to reserve in advance as only a maximum of eight people are allowed to use the spa at the same time.

The place is beautiful and so peaceful! There are several types of saunas such as the bio sauna, finnish sauna and an infrared one. The steam room is great as well making sure your muscles and mind are relaxed as soon as you step in and out. The experience shower is fun! If you need to cool down immediately, an ice fountain is there for your convenience and afterwards you can relax in the wonderful relax area with fire place. I loved every single minute in here! To me it was like a small escape from the real world… Highly recommended to use the spa facilities here, you won’t be sorry!

I’m a huge fan of the Hotel Beveren and already recommended the hotel to family and friends! I would and will return in a heartbeat!

I have had good experiences with the Van der Valk hotel chain and was excited to visit their hotel in Veenendaal! From the outside, the hotel looks quite special and unique. And as soon as you enter the Van der Valk Veenendaal, you will experience a full service four star hotel.

Check-in was very efficient and super friendly! Always so nice to be welcomed with a great smile! The lobby area is spacious and you immediately notice the nice décor and decorations. They used warm colors and cozy furniture which results in a classy place. Thumbs up!

We stayed in one of their luxuriously appointed wellness suites! What a gorgeous room it was! At 60m², this suite is huge featuring several wellness facilities which we appreciated very much! There’s a free standing jacuzzi, a (double) steam shower and infra-red sauna. I could not imagine any better room to feel at ease and relax. Again, warm natural colors have been used. Other standard four star amenities in the room are a Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes and good quality (Ritual) toiletries.

All guests staying at the Van der Valk Veenendaal enjoy complimentary access to the spa area which is located at the 2^nd floor. There’s a Finish sauna, steam room and a relax area with comfy lounge chairs. A full fitness center is also available with the latest technology equipment. I must say the whole place was immaculately clean!

The restaurant and bar are located on the ground floor and are very large. Throughout the whole hotel, the used the same style and atmosphere. Very cool! It was pretty busy while we were there, but service was top notch! Within minutes, we were brought to our seats and enjoyed a great aperitif. They offer a great selection of Gins! The menu is varied and they use several local ingredients. From the starter with mushrooms to the perfectly baked salmon… we thoroughly enjoyed every dish! Oh, and the dessert was to die for 🙂

The next morning we had breakfast. The buffet was great with plenty of choices. What a great start of the day!

The Van der Valk Veenendaal is a very good hotel, no wonder it gets such good comments! From the beautiful rooms to the professional service… I loved every second of my stay here! Highly recommended!
