Viceroy Dubai is one of the newest five star beach resorts in Dubai and I got the chance to check it out! Since it is a Viceroy hotel my expectations were pretty high and I’m glad to say (or write!) that I was blown away by this property.

Location

Viceroy Dubai has a prime location on Palm Jumeirah, right at the beginning of The Palm. Dubai Marine is reachable in just 10 minutes. We visited Atlantis too which was only a 10 minute taxi drive away. Very convenient location!

The building itself is unique… so beautiful and not your typical Dubai building. This hotel stands out due to the beautiful design and architecture. As you could see on the pictures, every inch of Viceroy has been decorated with eye for details. I would describe it as contemporary and the colors made me feel relaxed. You enter the hotel in a huge glass cube, actually the first of its kind glass cube (the biggest glass cube in the world by the way!) which connects the two main buildings. The iconic cube seemingly floats in front of the hotel, allowing natural light to flood in and provides a direct view through to the resort’s runway like 60-meter pool, the ocean and Dubai Marina. I loved all the marble and gold… the lobby area truly gives a great first impression!

We had a late flight and arrived at the hotel at 2:30am. Still we were welcomed with a smile and our keys were handed after the usual registration.

The rooms

Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai is home to 477 rooms and suites, including 352 guestrooms, 85 suites and 40 hotel apartments located across 16 floors. All rooms at Viceroy are very luxurious and bright. Everything was so clean and smelled brand new. I loved the fact that they used many natural materials, neutral colors and stand out furniture. The best part was the large balcony overlooking the sea and the skyline of Dubai Marina. I recommend to stay in one of those rooms! Of course, if you are in Dubai for business purposes, you probably don’t care about the view, beside the view the rooms are identical. Some details I would like to highlight: I appreciated the cocktail making facilities and lightning in the room (relaxed atmosphere, etc.).

Fancy bathrooms are very exclusive featuring a free standing golden bath tub which is just gorgeous and made me feel like a king! A separate walk-in shower and toilet are available too.

Pool/beach Area

A lot of things to do here! The pool area is amazing… Viceroy Dubai has a large pool with direct sea views. Plenty of comfortable loungers. I especially liked the loungers which are located in the pool themselves… When it was too hot (I was in Dubai in May), I could just jump into the pool from my lounger. So cool! Kids have their own large pool and (complimentary) kids club.

There’s a private beach area. Again, with the best views one could wish for. Service was excellent, they serve drinks all day long. Watersport facilities are available too.

Restaurants/bars

Dining options are endless at Viceroy Dubai. We thoroughly enjoyed lunch at BLVD on One, located on the ground floor next to the pool area. This all day vibrant, global brasserie led by executive chef Robert Nilsson offers an international cuisine which will please anyone. I ordered a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and honestly, it was delicious and as a Caesar Salad should be with the best dressing, anchovies and parmesan cheese. Breakfast is served here too. The buffet style breakfast is something to look forward to each morning! So many choices and such a good quality of the food and service. Nothing really is asked for too much! Loved it!

Other dining facilities are Maiden Shanghai, offering a contemporary and authentic Chinese cuisine, Quattro Passi is their signature Italian restaurant led by two Michelin-starred chef Antonio Mellino and the Delisserrie is a cafe styled restaurant/bar offering light meals such as Danish open-faced sandwiches and modern high tea. Make sure to check out their cool bars such as Elevate which is located on the ‘bridge’ on the 13^th floor offering stunning views over Dubai Marina. Cocktails are fantastic!

The Spa

Honestly, I was blown away by the spa facilities at Viceroy Dubai! This place is just beautiful … and oh so peaceful. They have 14 treatment rooms (some outdoor), a relaxing outdoor spa pool and a spa cafe. I visited the treatment rooms for couples as well and each treatment room has been decorated with high class materials and marble everywhere. The staff was very professional and made me feel at ease in just seconds.

I got to experience the Viceroy Desert Sensory Treatment, their signature treatment. This treatment begins with a meditation followed by an amazing treatment designed to stimulate touch, smell and hearing. The bed was the best I have ever experienced, hands down. It was a MLX Quartz Bed which uses warm sand and an innovative adjustable air cells to create wave-like motion in the sand to promote total physical and mental relaxation. I felt reborn afterwards! Highly recommended to book this treatment!

Viceroy Dubai is a top notch five star property with a Miami beach vibe around the place. I could easily spend a week here without getting bored. Behind every corner a new surprise is waiting for you. On top of that the hotel offers the best dining options one could wish for. Every staff member I met served us with a smile and nothing was asked for too much! I loved my stay here, from the beginning to the end. Five stars all the way!

Tangla Hotel Brussels

Tangla Hotel Brussels is one of the latest five star properties in our capital, Brussels and it didn’t disappoint! The hotel opened only one year ago and I read excellent things about the hotel so I was really looking forward to experiencing this beautiful place!

‘Tangla’ originates from the mystical legend of the Tanggula, a paradise nestled in the tranquil Qingzhang highlands blessed by the patron saint of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains. That is true, Tangla Hotel Brussels is a high end oriental designed five star property located only 15 mins from the city center and Brussels International Airport. The green surrounding area around the hotel is fantastic and you wouldn’t tell that this hotel is located near the airport. I didn’t hear a thing while staying here.

I was welcomed with a great smile and felt at ease right from the beginning. The lobby area is bright and stylish. Everything I needed to know about the hotel and its facilities were explained in a very kind way. I was escorted to the elevators and couldn’t wait to see our suite. Tangla Hotel Brussels has 187 rooms, all decorated in a very stylish way. The oriental theme is noticeable everywhere and I was really impressed by the overall decoration. Behind every corner, a new surprise was waiting for me. For example, the bells they used at a Chinese monastery are so beautiful … I wish I could take one for my home 🙂

The rooms & suites

To add the Chinese theme even more, they call the rooms ‘fáng’ (Chinese for room) and ‘Tàofáng’ (Chinese for suite). We stayed in a Tàofáng and were so excited when we entered. The suite was decorated in soft pastel colors and wooden panels. At 50m² the suite was large and offered all the amenities I would expect of a high end hotel. The suite came with a separate living and sleeping area. The luxuriously appointed marble bathroom had a bathtub and oversized walk-in rainshower. I especially appreciated the lightning in the rooms. Pretty impressive and controllable with panels. Even the drapes are electronically controlled for your convenience. Things such as a Nespresso machine, bathrobes and LED smartTV’s are available as well. I did visit their standard rooms and top suites as well and trust me, they’re all very tastefully designed with eye for detail.

Spa facilities

Tangla Hotel Brussels will open a brand new spa area in the next couple of weeks (end of May 2017) to their guests. I got the chance to explore it and loved it! The spa area is huge at 1200m². The indoor pool is large and the perfect place to unwind after a long flight or busy day in Brussels. You can relax in the oversized sauna too. The fitness area is one the best I have seen in any hotel, offering the latest technology equipment. They will even add a spa menu in the upcoming months and will write about that on a next occasion. The spa area will be the new highlight at Tangla Hotel Brussels! You will love too!

Restaurants/bars

We enjoyed dinner at Le Cinq, but first tried some cocktails at TLounge. This bar specializes in the finest whiskies, sourced from all corners of the world and a great selection of Newby teas. This definitely is the perfect place for an aperitif or after dinner drinks. Le Cinq is currently the only operating restaurant at Tangla Hotel Brussels (they will be opening Tang Dynasty pretty soon offering fancy Cantonese gastronomic experiences – I did had a sneak preview of the restaurant and was blown away only by the interior and will review this restaurant on a later occasion). Le Cinq is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a buffet styled restaurant and will please anyone. Dinner was great offering high quality products both Oriental and Western. There’s a live cooking station where you can order beef, shrimp, etc. The food was excellent, as was the service. Breakfast is something to look forward to as well. From the freshly prepared smoothies to the made to order eggs, I loved it!

Tangla Hotel Brussels is a top notch five star property in Brussels. To me, it definitely is one the better hotels in Belgium and would return in a heartbeat. Do note that the hotel offers shuttle service to the airport (7,5 EUR each way) and will be offering complimentary shuttle service to the airport soon. Even for business purposes, this is the hotel to choose as they have several excellent meeting/board rooms. The grand ballroom is impressive and took my breath away… Thumbs up, Tangla Hotel Brussels! Highly recommended for a luxurious oriental getaway!

The Hotel – Brussels

Situated on the Avenue Louise, The Hotel is literally in the middle of it all and within walking distance of the major attractions in Brussels. This beautiful refurnished 4 star hotel has 421 rooms, a restaurant, bar and a large spa area with fitness center, sauna and a steam room. It is a pretty large building and the surrounding views are amazing! Although I have been to Brussels many times, I was pretty impressed with the views.

As I entered The Hotel, I was welcomed by very friendly front desk staff. Service at The Hotel is always with a smile which is absolutely pleasant. The lobby area is pretty large and I loved the decoration: quite trendy, but not over the top… It is classy with a modern touch, just the way I like it! The fashion theme is noticeable all over the place. One small (but important!) detail: lots of elevators! I didn’t have to wait more than 20 seconds to go up or down! Very convenient!

I stayed at one of their “Panoramic Deluxe rooms” on the 22^nd floor and boy, the room did have a fantastic view of Brussels! The room itself was very nicely laid out with a queen bed, open bathroom with a very good rainshower and all the nice amenities to go with the room. I was in love with the shampoo and body lotion, they smell great. There is a large couch in front of the window, a Nespresso machine, safe and there is a panel next to the bed allowing you to control all the lights and drapery.. Although the rooms are too large, they were sufficient for my needs.

Fitness area is large and has great equipment! Complimentary drinks are offered to their guests and as it is located on the 23^rd floor, I enjoyed the view of Brussels while I was working out! Next to the fitness area is the Spa featuring a panoramic sauna and a hamam. You should definitely check and try it out yourself. You won’t be disappointed and you will relax, I promise! Bathrobes and slippers can be found in your room.

Staying in a Panoramic Deluxe room allows you to enjoy the Panoramic Lounge offering complimentary drinks and snacks all day long. As it is located on the 24^th floor the lounge has impressive views out of Brussels. There are some small bites, but I was most impressed with the drinks. They even have champagne at no additional charges. Loved it!

Breakfast is served either in the restaurant downstairs or guests staying in the Panoramic Deluxe rooms or suites can have breakfast in the Panoramic Lounge as well. Both are buffet style breakfasts with enough choices of hot and cold food items. I believe the breakfast downstairs would be a better choice as the buffet was pretty good. The decoration of the restaurant was trendy yet cozy.

The Hotel Brussels is a unique hotel with outstanding facilities centrally located in the heart of Brussels. This was just a great overall experience, which I can thoroughly recommend!

Kempinski Gravenbruch – Frankfurt

All of you know that i’m a huge Kempinski fan! I was so excited to visit and stay at Kempinski Frankfurt Gravenbruch. This upscale five star hotel was added to the Kempinski’s portfolio as its fourth hotel. You really can’t beat the location, located near the city center of Frankfurt the hotel is surrounded by gardens and a huge lake. No wonder a lot of business events take place here! Although the hotel has its age, they recently (2014) renovated the entire hotel. You would never tell that the hotel was originally built in 1967.

The building itself gave me this grand feeling right upon arrival. The hotel even has a nearly 400 year old country manor with incredible ambiance which I will tell more about later. Entering Kempinski Frankfurt Gravenbruch is like entering a palace. The lobby area is luxurious, well maintained and gave me a good first impression. Check-in staff was among the best I have ever met. A big smile, asking how the journey was while arranging our keys was a lovely experience. After I was told that we would be staying in one of their Grand Deluxe Rooms with a magnificent lake view, I could not wait any longer and wanted to see it myself.

Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch

I can easily see why our room is called a Grand Deluxe Room. Decorated in a very stylish way, the room absolutely had everything I would expect from a five star property. I have never slept bad in a Kempinski bed and wasn’t surprised that the beds at Kempinski Frankfurt Gravenbruch were heavenly. All rooms have a minibar with complimentary soft drinks. Rooms are equipped with the latest technology which was not too difficult to use. There are several touch panels allowing you the control the lights and temperature. Bathroom featured an oversized walk-in shower, toilet and double sinks. Turn down service was provided every night, always a bonus!

You could never get bored here! As mentioned before, the hotel has its own beautiful park with a lake. It is the perfect place to unwind away from the bustle of the city. As the sun was shining while I was there, I enjoyed the outdoor pool area. I was happy to find out that the hotel has a large beautiful indoor pool as well as the next couple of days were pretty cold. At 2000m², the spa area is huge offering several relaxing areas with the most comfortable loungers I have experienced at any hotel, different kinds of sauna’s, treatment rooms, a fitness area overlooking the lake, etc. I just loved it and recommend you to experience the same!

There are several dining options at the hotel as there are three on-site restaurants. EssTisch is the main restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I must say that breakfast at Kempinski Frankfurt Gravenbruch is a top notch breakfast… One of the better I have ever experienced with everything one could wish for. The extensive buffet even has an Asian corner. Sparkling wine was a bonus! Do note that they offer several à la carte options as well at no additional charge. Their one Michelin starred restaurant SRA BUA by Juan Amador offers excellent Euro-Asian cuisine. I did not try the restaurant because unfortunately it was closed while I was there, but will make sure a review comes online soon as I am visiting the hotel again later this year. Restaurant Torschaenke is located in the old manor. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, it offers local traditional specialties. Besides the restaurants, the hotel has several bars as well such as the K-lounge where they serve fancy cocktails in a classy environment.

Do note that the hotel does have everything for business related stays such as 18 conference rooms each equipped with the highest standards and latest technology. Most of them even have views over the gardens.

I loved my stay at Kempinski Frankfurt Gravenbruch and definitely recommend staying here while visiting Frankfurt both for business and leisure. Every staff member I met was friendly, professional and did everything to make sure I felt special. Highly recommended!

Bulgari Milano

We all know Bulgari as a luxury brand, but did you know that they are active in the hotel industry as well? That is right, Bulgari already has 3 hotels and I was so excited to experience the Bulgari hotel in Milano. I had high expectations, but still was totally blown away by this property. Having stayed at many high end five star properties, this hotel was beyond words and I can’t say enough good things about this place.

First of all, the location is amazing. Right in the city center of Milan and within walking distance to the major attractions of beautiful Milan. Still you are in a private gem with all the luxury amenities one could wish for. Guests are treated like royalty here and nothing is asked for too much here. The personal approach is highly appreciated and one of the key factors of the Bulgari Milan.

Once I stepped in, I was greeted by the most accommodating staff who made me feel at ease right from the first second. The lobby kind of feels like a big living room with comfortable couches and an open fire place. I immediately noticed the sweet corner with complimentary sweets and hot chocolate. Be sure to have one yourself, I loved it 🙂

We arrived pretty early in the morning and first had breakfast before we went to our room. The Bulgari Milano has a 24hr breakfast which means one can have breakfast at any moment. We opted for the American breakfast. From the freshly squeezed juices to the pastries, I totally enjoyed every bite. Although every hotel offers breakfast obviously the products and ingredients they use here are of such a good quality that I actually was blown away and it set the tone for the next 48 hours…

After breakfast it was time to explore our room. I stayed in a corner room and again was very satisfied. The room had a great size. No standard furniture here, all items (and I litterly mean every item/product/…) is of such a high quality. I fell at home here which is unique. The room had a nice cozy sitting area with the most comfortable couch. The king sized bed was to die for. Oh and I have to mention that every day a new surprise will be waiting for you. For example, they brought fresh flowers in the afternoon, some (yummie!) pastries and when I needed anything, I just had to dial 0 and a few seconds later they were happy to bring it to the room. Bathroom is very luxurious featuring an oversized bath tub and a fantastic walk-in shower. There are plenty of luxury Bulgari toiletries offered. Another surprise was the wierook in the bathroom, never seen at any hotel and so nice to have!

One of the highlights of the Bulgari hotel Milano is the spa area. No words can describe how beautiful this place is. It is the perfect place to relax after a day of shopping in Milan. It was so quiet and peaceful… and the décor is unique. Candles, soft relaxing music and luxurious leather lounges made me feel in heaven. There’s an indoor pool, a Finnish sauna and steam room. The spa at the Bulgari Milan is one of the most luxurious spa’s I have experienced, anywhere. Be sure to check out the large outdoor Jacuzzi as well, I spent hours in there 🙂

Turn down service is provided every night. They offer complimentary anti oxidant thee to their guests which is the perfect way to start a comfortable night.

It is all about service here. The staff is among the most professional and accommodating I have ever experienced. As said before, after spending so many night at so many five star hotels, it is great to still be impressed by hotels like the Bulgari Milano. I can’t wait to stay at another Bulgari property and will definitely stay at this hotel again when I am in Milan. After having stayed for ‘only’ two night, the Bulgari Milano is my home away from home. The place to be for a luxurious getaway in Milan, I am in love…

Hotel New York – Rotterdam

Hotel New York is one of the most iconic hotels of Rotterdam! The building used to be the head office of the famous Holland America Line. I was looking forward to exploring this unique hotel. The building wasn’t built as a hotel and that’s why the hotel New York is so unique. The location is excellent, right at the Maas river. It’s pretty interesting to know that thousands of emigrants left Europe and were heading to the US hoping for a better life. By the way, when you cross the bridge, the Rotterdam’s city center is just a short walk away.

All rooms at hotel New York have different sizes and are decorated in a different way. Each are very comfortable and offer four star comfort such as a Nespresso coffee machine, the most comfortable beds by Treca de Paris and cozy seating areas.

We were lucky to stay in one of their signature suites, the Maas Suite. As you can imagine, the suite had a full view of the Maas. It was just beautiful… I was impressed with the suite, it was very large and luxuriously appointed. One of the nicest suites I got to experience! The typical Delft Blue design is a nice touch, we were in the Netherlands after all! The suite comes with some nice details such as the high chair with a telescope for you to enjoy. What I also liked was the combination of old and new throughout the entire suite. The large television popping out of its closet, the modern bathroom and the most comfortable couches made this suite one to remember!

What surprised me most at hotel New York is their on site restaurant NY Basement. After exploring many restaurants in Rotterdam, NY Basement is my favorite! I appreciated the atmosphere and overall decoration. Do note that Hotel New York has two restaurants. On the main floor there’s a very large restaurant where guests can enjoy their favorite dishes. I was told that the sea food there is amazing! But let me start with the NY Basement which is more intimate than the upstairs restaurant. I started with a yummie Mojito and then enjoyed the most delicious four course dinner. Hands down, this is one of the better restaurants in Rotterdam! The chef knows how to combine ingredients and adds extra touches to each dish, pretty impressive. The pictures speak for themselves, right? I would also like to highlight the impeccable service of the staff, not too formal yet not too informal… Excellent! I was at ease and had a great time. Be sure to book a table here, you will love the culinary journey and the most delicious cocktails!

After a great night in the suite, it was time to explore the main restaurant. I was blown away by the size of this place. Later I found out that 400 people can be seated here. Decoration is unique, l love the mix of ‘new’ and ‘old’. Food was excellent, it is a buffet style breakfast with the most friendly staff. Views of the Maas are great, I imagined people waiting here in the old days before boarding the ship. The atmosphere is truly amazing.

Hotel New York is one of kind! It is not just an ordinary hotel, but a hotel with history… As a guest you can still feel the grandeur of the old days. Go explore it yourself, you won’t be disappointed and have a great time exploring Rotterdam and its surrounding areas.

Le Méridien Hamburg

Le Méridien Hamburg is a hotel located near the city center of Hamburg. It was the first time I stayed at a Méridien hotel and was very curious and excited to check out this hotel. This five star hotel has it all … from the luxurious rooms to the roof top restaurant and bar with the most amazing views of the Aussen Alster lake. Right from the beginning, I knew that this hotel stay would be flawless. The lobby area is just stunning and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. What a great start at this Méridien hotel!

The room we stayed in was luxurious and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable hotel stay: a very comfortable couch, working desk and a wonderful bathroom with separate walk-in shower and bath tub. The room was very cozy and I loved the lighted backside of the beds. Great touch! The Nespresso machine and bathrobes made my stay even more pleasant. I do need to mention that the beds are of a great quality. It was lovely to spend time in this room…

For me, one of the top features of Le Méridien Hamburg is their restaurant Heritage which is located on the top floor of the hotel. It offers the most stunning views over the lake. The first night while we were in Hamburg we had dinner and I can honestly say that they served me one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Right from the beginning to the end, our restaurant experience was flawfless, food was outstanding and service was excellent. The sommelier did a great job, providing us with the right wines with the right dishes. The chef uses excellent ingredients and every dish looked like a painting. And having such a good dinner with such an incredible view … we were in heaven!

After an evening walk, we took the panoramic elevator (be sure to check that one out J) and have a drink at the bar. It was the perfect way to end our beautiful day.

Another great thing about this hotel is the spa area with a large indoor pool, sauna and steam room. It is a great place to relax and unwind. Next to the spa area is a large fitness facility equipped with up to date equipment. Again, service was excellent and nothing was asked for too much! Loved it! Bath robes can be found in the room!

After spending several nights here, we always looked forward to having breakfast in the restaurant upstairs. Le Méridien Hamburg offers a fantastic breakfast buffet to their guests. Anything you want is there and even requested beans in tomato sauce which they served in just minutes. The sparkling wine is a bonus, by the way!

Be sure to check out their new bar downstairs, Latitude. I really liked the hip and trendy atmosphere!

I LOVED our stay at Le Méridien Hamburg and am not surprised that it is rated as one of the best five star hotels in the city. I would rate every facility here with five stars, from the rooms to the most wonderful staff one could wish for! Excellent choice when you are in Hamburg!

Airport hotel: Holiday Inn Brussels Airport

Holiday Inn Brussels Airport is a four star hotel near Brussels Airport. It actually was one of the first hotels built in the direct area of the airport. Today, it still is one of the better options to stay when you are flying from/to Brussels. The hotel offers a free shuttle from/to the airport in the morning and afternoon, very convenient.

Although the hotel has its age, they are completely renovated the entire hotel. When I entered the hotel I was happy to find out a totally up to date and nicely decorated lobby area. I immediately noticed there’s no standard front desk here… Guests can check-in at one of the check-in counters by themselves. It’s pretty easy as you just have to enter the first three letters of your surname and the system finds your reservation automatically.

The rooms at the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport have all the amenities I expect from a four star hotel. I stayed in an executive room and was pleased with the room. The Nespresso coffee machine was a bonus! Did you know that all executive rooms have a complimentary mini bar? That is right, I definitely recommend you to upgrade your ‘standard’ room to an executive room as there are several interesting services included such as the free minibar and more spacious room. Bathrobes can be found in the bathroom for your convenience. I also appreciated the pillow menu.

After inspecting the room, I went down to explore the wellness area of the hotel. There’s a large indoor pool with an adjoining jacuzzi. Right next to the pool, is a traditional sauna and steam room. This area definitely is one of the highlights of the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport, it is great to relax and unwind here after a flight.

The onsite restaurant Kreative Kuisine is large and offers a varied menu. The food was outstanding and service was very efficient. I enjoyed a carrot soup and tried one of their burgers… I must tell I enjoyed every singly bite. The Dame Blanche with Chocotof chocolate sauce was to die for. Do not look for another restaurant in the area, but be sure to book your table here! You won’t regret 🙂

I’m a fan of this Holiday Inn’s SKOJ concept which means ‘fun’ in Swedish. There’s an informal yet professional atmosphere in the hotel and everyone will make you feel at ease here. Especially the breakfast lady in the morning made our day! She was lovely and made sure we were doing just fine. The breakfast buffet was excellent by the way and once again I liked the décor of the restaurant and presentation of the food.

The Holiday Inn Brussels Airport is a good four star hotel with great facilities and an excellent restaurant. Definitely one of the better hotels in the area! Highly recommended!

The Sacher Hotel – Salzburg

The Sacher hotel in Salzburg is one of the most famous hotels in the city and is one of the Leading hotels of the world. This five star hotel has a unique location right at the Salzag river right across the old city center of Salzburg. The Sacher hotel is a hotel with a great history. It was built in 1866.

The lobby area is impressive with the staircases and large atrium. From the moment you enter the Sacher hotel you enter a classy property with eye to attention. The front desk staff is very accommodating and made me feel welcome.

All the rooms at the Sacher hotel are very luxuriously appointed. The presidential suite was very luxurious and makes you feel like a real president J The living room was large offering the most comfortable couches, oversized working desk and dining area. The grand chandelier made it feel even more special and luxurious. The adjoining separate bedroom was very comfortable and will make sure you will have a great night’s sleep. The bathroom is luxurious as well offering a separate bath tub and large walk-in rain shower, mirror television and high quality toiletries.

There are several lounge areas at the Sacher hotel. Some of them are recently refurbished. All of the spaces are just wonderful and after every corner a new surprise is waiting for you. Be sure to check out the pictures downstairs in the lobby area, they show the great history of the Sacher hotel.

We had dinner at the Sachergrill, a traditional Austrian grill restaurant located on the ground level. We loved every single dish, from the pumpkin soup to the most wonderful steak! Oh and be sure to check out there famous ‘Sacher Torte’, a delicious chocolate cake. I was in heaven while eating J Staff was excellent and had a great knowledge about each dish and made excellent wine choices.

The Sacher hotel is one of a kind with a great history and top notch service! Highly recommended!

Auersperg Hotel – Salzburg

Located in a very interesting and convenient spot in Salzburg, the Auersperg hotel is rated as one of the best hotels in the city. It is a typical Austrian four star hotel and offers only the best of the best! From the moment we arrived untill the time we left, we felt great. The staff is just wonderful and will do their upmost best to serve you in a fantastic way.

Upon arrival, everything is explained in a friendly yet professional way. The lobby is just wonderful. Our keys were handed in just seconds before we headed to our wonderful room.

The superior garden view room we stayed in had a great size and is comfortably appointed. All rooms at the Auersperg hotel have been renovated recently and are of a four star level. Standard amenities are a Nespresso coffee machine, HD television and a safe. I especially appreciated the reading and tourist information books and music system with several cd’s for your enjoyment. Plenty of sockets in the room as well which is rarely the case at most hotels! Loved it! Bathroom was great featuring a large walk-in rain shower, single sink and toilet. Every spot in the room was spotlesly clean and the heated bathroom floor was very convenient and comfortable.

A true highlight of the Auesperg hotel is the City Spa, located on a second floor. When we were in Salzburg it was freezing and it was absolutely amazing to relax in the spa after a day spent in the cold. The spa is opened from 5pm – 10pm but if you wish to use it earlier just ask the reception. There’s a traditional sauna, a steam room and an excellent relax area with comfortable loungers. They offer several beauty treatments as well at affordable rates. I relaxed in the steam room, read a book afterwards, closed my eyes and enjoyed the very relaxing music. It was the perfect way to end my day. By the way, bathrobes and slippers can be found in the room.

There’s also a large business center with meeting room and printing facilities.

The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. It is a buffet style breakfast offering only fresh products. We sat down and the very accommodating staff immediately asked if we wanted some coffee and eggs. The food was delicious and I appreciated the mix of sweet and salt. There’s just something for everybody.

As said before, the location is excellent. The Auersperg hotel is located near the old town of Salzburg. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beautiful old city center. Make sure to visit the Sound of Music fountains and gardens too, the Mirabell Gardens and Mirabell Palace, which is also just a short walk away from the hotel.

Our stay at the Auersperg hotel was wonderful and I can easily understand why it is rated as one of the best hotels in the city. From the personal approach to the comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast, the Auersperg hotel is top notch and I highly recommend to stay at this hotel when you are in Salzburg!
