It is known as one of the best hotels in the area so I was pretty excited to get the chance to experience. The hotel is located in a very modern building. The lobby is very spacious and gives a great first impression.

Check-in staff made me feel very welcome and was down to earth, not over the top which sometimes is the case at other hotels but still acting very professional. You feel at ease here, which is worth a lot… especially after a long flight!

The room I stayed in was large and of a true 4 star level. The deluxe room was recently renovated and featured a small comfy couch and a large working desk. The modern bathroom was great featuring an oversized (rain) shower which was heavenly! The room was totally up to date and decorated in a very nice way. Another great feature of the rooms: they’re all soundproof assuring you a good nights’ sleep. By the way, did you know the hotel is located in a non flying zone? That is right, I didn’t hear one plane during my stay at the hotel.

Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam has a full Spa and wellness Center which is a great especially after long flights. The Lifestyle Club & Active Spa is pretty large featuring a great indoor swimming pool which is pretty large for hotel standards. There are also steam showers and saunas which guests can use at no additional charge. The treatment I had was one of the best massages I have had in Amsterdam. The therapist did an amazing job and I felt like walking on clouds throughout the treatment. It was so relaxing… Definitely book a treatment when you are there as you will be pampered and relaxed as never before!

At night I had dinner at Trattoria. This Italian styled restaurant offers excellent dishes in a cozy atmosphere. You could tell that the Chef is Italian. This is not just an ordinary hotel restaurant. The food they serve here is just d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. Hands down, I can honestly tell you that I had the best raw beef tartar ever! Also, the presentation was top notch! As a main course, the Monkfish which was wrapped in lardo bisque came with gamba, a foam of San Daniele and a cream of shallots. The straw potato and radicchio made a perfect combination. I must also highlight the great and personal service here. Everyone I met and spoke to was very friendly and accommodating! Thumbs up!

Another option to have a good bite and drink is their Sports & Media Bar. This pub is very cozy and the perfect place to relax and have a good chat with your fellow travelers.
I started the next day with an excellent breakfast. The Restaurant Patio is located on the ground floor next to the lobby area. The buffet is large and the quality of the food is outstanding! It will please everyone! Personally, my favorites were the pastries. They even offer some yummy apple pie. You should definitely try it out yourself.

Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam is an excellent option if you are looking for a hotel near the Airport of Amsterdam. The real advantages of staying here are the gorgeous renovated rooms, the large Spa & Wellness Center with an indoor heated swimming pool and the great hospitality. Do note that they offer a very convenient and efficient complimentary shuttle service to/from the hotel which will take you to the airport in just 10 minutes. The shuttle runs 2 times per hour. So just park your car safely at the hotel and let your holiday start right away! I promise, it will be a great start of your journey! Can’t wait to return!

Located near the airport of Schiphol Amsterdam, Ramada Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is a great four star hotel with excellent amenities.

Ramada Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is one of the better options if you are looking for a hotel near the airport. I find it very convenient to stay at a comfortable hotel before catching a plane the next morning. Your holiday starts even before you are at your destination! Right upon arrival, I was welcomed with a smile and the front desk staff told me everything I needed to know about the hotel and the facilities. I was happy to find out about the recent renovations the hotel has been undergone. The interior is totally up to date and I immediately liked the contemporary design of the hotel.

All rooms at Ramada Amsterdam Schiphol Airport are comfortably appointed with all the facilities you’d expect of a four star hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated and very spacious! I appreciated the comfy chairs, couch and excellent bed! Bathroom featured a bath tub and single sink. I was happy to find bathrobes in the bathroom as well, always a bonus! Once again, all rooms at this Ramada hotel are recently renovated. They all look brand new! Another great touch in the rooms is the ‘Handy’ phone, your ‘travel buddy’ to take with you during your stay. This ‘smart phone’ is very convenient and a real advantage! Never worry about roaming charges or getting lost. You can make unlimited local and international calls and browse the internet wherever and whenever you want! Love it!

 
I should definitely mention the onsite indoor pool. Although it is not the newest pool I have seen, it is great to be able to swim after a long flight. Guests can even use the sauna and hammam at no additional charge. Body treatments can be booked here too.

Their onsite restaurant, de Dam, offers an international cuisine. I really like the contemporary and modern décor of the restaurant. We had dinner here and I must admit the food is outstanding as is the service. We enjoyed a wonderful beef entrecote served with café de Paris butter and green asparagus. A must try is the typical Dutch dessert, the Stroopwafel Ice Cake, I could eat that every single day! Additionally, they have the Damrak Lounge. They call it their ‘living room’ and I can easily see why… this is the place to hang out with your family and friends while enjoying a drink or small bites.

Each morning, they serve breakfast at de Dam, but since we had to catch a plane pretty early in the morning, I cannot comment on the buffet breakfast … I saw pictures though and it looked great!

Ramada Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is a great hotel with a very convenient location near the airport of Amsterdam Schiphol. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service from/to the hotel on a regularly basis. Highly recommended to stay here before or after a flight from Amsterdam Schiphol!

Holiday Inn Brussels Airport is a four star hotel near Brussels Airport. It actually was one of the first hotels built in the direct area of the airport. Today, it still is one of the better options to stay when you are flying from/to Brussels. The hotel offers a free shuttle from/to the airport in the morning and afternoon, very convenient.

Although the hotel has its age, they are completely renovated the entire hotel. When I entered the hotel I was happy to find out a totally up to date and nicely decorated lobby area. I immediately noticed there’s no standard front desk here… Guests can check-in at one of the check-in counters by themselves. It’s pretty easy as you just have to enter the first three letters of your surname and the system finds your reservation automatically.

The rooms at the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport have all the amenities I expect from a four star hotel. I stayed in an executive room and was pleased with the room. The Nespresso coffee machine was a bonus! Did you know that all executive rooms have a complimentary mini bar? That is right, I definitely recommend you to upgrade your ‘standard’ room to an executive room as there are several interesting services included such as the free minibar and more spacious room. Bathrobes can be found in the bathroom for your convenience. I also appreciated the pillow menu.

After inspecting the room, I went down to explore the wellness area of the hotel. There’s a large indoor pool with an adjoining jacuzzi. Right next to the pool, is a traditional sauna and steam room. This area definitely is one of the highlights of the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport, it is great to relax and unwind here after a flight.

The onsite restaurant Kreative Kuisine is large and offers a varied menu. The food was outstanding and service was very efficient. I enjoyed a carrot soup and tried one of their burgers… I must tell I enjoyed every singly bite. The Dame Blanche with Chocotof chocolate sauce was to die for. Do not look for another restaurant in the area, but be sure to book your table here! You won’t regret 🙂

I’m a fan of this Holiday Inn’s SKOJ concept which means ‘fun’ in Swedish. There’s an informal yet professional atmosphere in the hotel and everyone will make you feel at ease here. Especially the breakfast lady in the morning made our day! She was lovely and made sure we were doing just fine. The breakfast buffet was excellent by the way and once again I liked the décor of the restaurant and presentation of the food.

The Holiday Inn Brussels Airport is a good four star hotel with great facilities and an excellent restaurant. Definitely one of the better hotels in the area! Highly recommended!

The Van der Valk hotel near Schiphol, Amsterdams international airport, is a four star hotel with great facilities. The hotel is quite large and offers comfortable rooms, a nice restaurant and wellness facilities. The lobby area is quite spacious and front desk staff was very professional and efficient.

The room I stayed in, or should I call it a suite, probably was the most comfortable room near an airport I ever stayed at. The Top Suite features an oversized circle jacuzzi, a steam shower and an amazing king sized bed. Other amenities were the coffee machine and good toiletries. Those suites offer plenty of space (65m²) and truly are heavenly after a long flight. I imagined myself relaxing here after spending hours in an airplane!

I am in love with the indoor pool! It is opened from 7am – 10pm and the water temperature is great! It is so nice to be able to swim after your flight and to unwind in the spa area afterwards. That’s right, guests can use a traditional sauna, infrared sauna and a steam shower. The heated loungers are perfect! I appreciated the fact that everything was very clean and smelled fresh.

There’s a full service restaurant at the Van der Valk Schiphol hotel. I didn’t eat here, but the restaurant looked refreshing, comfortable and the menu looked great.

The next morning, after a wonderful night in the large king sized bed, I went down for a work out. The fitness center is located next to the swimming pool and offers up to date equipment. Always nice to be able to watch television while you’re working out. It also opens at 7am in the morning, but you can request to use to fitness earlier if needed.

After the working out and a great shower, I totally enjoyed breakfast. The breakfast buffet at the Van der Valk Schiphol is varied and has something for everyone.

The Van der Valk Schiphol is a great hotel near the airport of Amsterdam. They organize complimentary shuttle service from/to the airport and you can leave your car on the parking at affordable rates. By the way, the first 24 hours of parking are complimentary. Highly recommended to stay here before or after a flight as the rooms are very comfortable and due the wellness facilities!
