Directly connected to Schiphol Airport, the brand new Hilton Schiphol truly has everything you would expect from a luxurious airport hotel. When I stayed at this Hilton, it only opened 2,5 years ago. This hotel is huge and has 433 comfortable rooms. When I entered the hotel, I was blown away by the gorgeous lobby. The open-plan atrium is the center of the hotel with a very cozy yet trendy bar and sitting areas. Do visit the lobby at night and look up to the sky, all the small lights look like stars, it is just stunning! By the way, the outfits of the staff members are fun and reminded me immediately that this is Amsterdam 🙂

Check-in went smoothly and the staff made me feel at ease in seconds. Everything I needed to know has been explained in a very professional, not too formal way.

My room was on the top floor and as soon as the elevator door opened, I was “wowed” again by the beautiful and spectacular atrium. Ok, time to check out my room… Rooms at the Hilton Schiphol are very nicely decorated in a contemporary style: strong lines, smooth forms and minimal accessories — with room for rule breaking. I loved the funny shaped garbage bin! Each bathroom has a huge walk-in shower, single sink and toilet. My room had a view of the airport which was fun! Bed was great, nota bene…

I had access to the executive lounge and this was one of the best executive lounges I have experienced. Most lounges I have been to, were not that cozy and offered not many advantages. The lounge at the Hilton Schiphol definitely is worth the upgrade! Complimentary soft drinks and snacks throughout the day, alcoholic beverages (including some spirits) and light bites at night… Perfect! On top of that, I appreciated the tranquil atmosphere, comfortable décor and friendliness of the staff.

After some drinks and snacks, it was time for a work out. The Hilton Schiphol has a full fitness center and spa area. I used the spa area the next day and tell me … is there a better way to start your day in a jacuzzi? The spa area is worth a visit! Besides the jacuzzi, there’s a sauna and steam room as well which can be used at no additional charge. I can imagine that – after a long flight – you will feel reborn after your visit to this spa! Before heading to bed, I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing massage. The therapist did an excellent job and provided the perfect pressure on my body as I requested. While listening to relaxing music, this definitely was the perfect way to end my day at Hilton Schiphol.

One of the highlights at Hilton Schiphol is definitely their signature Bowery Restaurant. This is the place to enjoy a delicious meal in a trendy environment. We were welcomed by the most friendly and accommodating staff dressed up in a lovely Dutch way, loved it! They have several different kind of kitchens such as grill and Asian dishes. There’s something for just anyone! The open style kitchen is a bonus, I always love the fact that a kitchen has nothing to hide and watching the chefs preparing the food, is entertaining!

I must admit that the food was heavenly! Let me share some of my favorite dishes: the oysters we started with were out of this world accompanied with some delicious champagne (of course!). The Dutch lamb with king bolete, polenta, radish and lamb gravy was great as was the Cod accompanied with Dutch langoustine, asparagus, potato and lobster foam… sounds delicious huh? Well, it was 😊 The unbaked cheese cake with strawberry, pistachio and rose wine was the perfect way to end this unforgettable night! Thumbs up, Browery Restaurant! Loved every second at this place! Non-hotel guests are also invited and enjoy complimentary parking arrangements!

The next morning I had breakfast at Bowery Restaurant. The buffet style breakfast was great with excellent choices of both hot and cold dishes. A buffet is also available at the executive lounge.

The Hilton Schiphol is very conveniently located at the airport of Amsterdam Schiphol. The hotel is directly connected with the airport with a covered walkway and it only takes 5 minutes by foot to the main terminal. Highly recommended!

Hilton Paris Opéra is one of the best four star hotels I have stayed at in the city of lights. This upscale hotel has a prime location in Paris and offers the most comfortable rooms one could wish for. I was surprised with this hotel, let me tell you why…

Although, Hilton Paris Opéra is located within a historic building, when I entered this hotel I was blown away by how they managed to combine a contemporary style without eliminating the historic touches. The grand lobby area is gorgeous with large chandeliers and comfortable couches. Again, the well-designed bar is an eye-catcher and definitely a must-visit! Their cocktails are delicious – check it out yourself 🙂

Check-in went smoothly and in just seconds, we were ready to explore our room. Every room at Hilton Paris Opéra is luxuriously appointed and the fact that almost every room has a different shape does add some charm to this place. No ordinary, boring rooms here … all rooms are decorated in a very stylish way. Although I was in the middle of Paris, the room had a descent size. I had plenty of room to work, relax and sleep. Perfect!

image6 (56).jpeg
image4 (64).jpeg

Bathrooms are impressive and again, large. Each bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower and marble sinks.

image5 (60).jpeg

As every Hilton, this hotel also has an executive lounge. For an additional charge, guests are able to relax, work, eat and drink in a private lounge located on the first floor. Some lounges at hotels are pretty boring, but the one at Hilton Paris Opéra is definitely worth the upgrade. From candies to afternoon treats, they have it all here. Guests can enjoy complimentary soft and hot drinks throughout the day. During the evening hours (6pm-8pm), complimentary wine and spirits are offered as well as light bites. Breakfast is served here as well and is included when you have access to the executive lounge so once again, definitely worth the price!

Each morning, a large breakfast buffet is available next to the executive lounge. The food was outstanding with several hot à la carte items which are included in the rate.

Hilton Paris Opéra is a top notch four star hotel in the center of Paris. The grand boutique feeling is noticeable throughout the entire hotel! Loved it!

Hilton Madrid is a five star hotel located near the airport of Madrid. It is only a 10 minute drive to reach at all the terminals which makes this hotel ideal if you need to catch an early flight the next day or if you arrive pretty late in the evening.

As you can expect of a Hilton hotel, Hilton Madrid offers comfortable rooms and a good service. For example, a complimentary shuttle service from/to the airport is offered to all guests. It runs every 20 minutes. Four times a day, a shuttle will even bring you to the center of Madrid, dropping you off at Puerta de Alcalá from where you can easily explore Madrid!

Although the building itself has been built years ago, the hotel from the inside looks pretty modern. I liked the bright atrium and overall atmosphere. Check-in staff was efficient and provided us with all the information we needed to know.

3

The rooms at Hilton Madrid are nicely appointed featuring either a king sized bed or twin beds. Our spacious room had a comfortable lounge chair and a nice desk. The semi-open bathroom featured bathtub and separate shower and standard Hilton toiletries.

1
2

Hilton Madrid offers an outdoor pool which can be covered if needed and a full sized fitness area. It is great to be able to use the pool after a flight.

6.PNG

Downstairs, there’s a restaurant and bar where guests can either enjoy a full menu or a small light snack and drink. Staff was very attended and were pleased to serve us in a very kind way. We only had a drink so I cannot comment on food.

Breakfast is served here too consisting of a good buffet with several cheeses and ham. If you need to catch a plane very early in the morning, a small buffet with coffee, tea and some pastries and croissants is offered… Very nice touch!

Hilton Madrid is one of the better airport hotels near the airport of Madrid. I would recommend this hotel is you need to catch a plane early in the morning as the shuttle service is very convenient. Even for a stopover in Madrid, this hotel is a good choice as it offers a shuttle service to the city center. Make sure to reserve your spot though, as places are limited! Very pleased with my stay!

Hilton Munich Park

2

The Hilton Munich Park is a five star hotel located at the large park of Munich. Did you know that this park is even bigger than New York’s Central Park? It is just huge and definitely worth a visit while you are in Munich.

The hotel has been renovated over the last couple of years and is a totally up to date hotel today. The large chandelier with tons of lighted leaves is just stunning and is the eye catcher in the lobby area. When we arrived (before check-in time) our room wasn’t ready yet and they offered a welcome drink which we consumed while seated in one of the comfortable sitting areas. After a few minutes our keys to the rooms were handed.

3

We stayed in an executive room. The room had a decent size and I loved the comfortable couch. It was the perfect couch to relax and watch some television :). Bathroom had a nice size too featuring a bathtub, single sink and toilet.

6
7 5

Since we stayed in an executive room, we had access to the executive lounge located on the 12th floor. Complimentary soft and hot drinks as well as small bites are offered here all day. At night, from 6pm to 8pm, alcoholic drinks such as wine and spirits can be consumed. Canapés are offered then too. As usual, I find those executive lounges a great deal. Not only for the drinks and snacks but breakfast is served there too. The personal approach is appreciated as well.

4

On the lower level of the Hilton Munich Park, there’s a spa and health club with large fitness center, indoor pool and sauna + steam room. A pool is always a bonus and although it is pretty small, it is fun to able to swim after a day exploring Munich. They offer several treatments here as well.

12
11

At night we had dinner at Tivoli, the signature restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and I found the service top notch! For example, my dad requested a cocktail with Grand Marnier and although it wasn’t on the list, the most friendly lady called the bartender which was happy to make one. I ordered a steak as a main course which truly was delicious and prepared as requested. And of course I just had to try the Bayern speciality: the Apple Strudle which was outstanding. Loved it! Be sure to book a table at Tivoli when you are staying at the Hilton Munich Park, you won’t be sorry 🙂

The next morning it was time to leave, unfortunately. We had to catch a plane pretty early in the morning f couldn’t make it for breakfast. However, they were happy to provide some breakfast boxes for us and coffee at check-out. What a great service!

You really can’t go wrong by booking a room at the Hilton Munich Park. Service is very good, food is amazing and rooms are comfortable. The hotel deserves its good reputation. Thumbs up, Hilton Munich Park!

Frankfurt Hilton Airport

16

The Hilton Frankfurt Airport is one of the best airport hotels I have been to! It is so conveniently located and directly attached to the airport of Frankfurt. No shuttle service needed here! It opened in 2011 and everything is still looking fresh and new!

4

The lobby area is just fantastic. It is like a large atrium with a lot of light and space. As you look up, you can actually see the planes flying by. The check-in staff were very professional and kind. They have us all the information we needed to know about the hotel and its facilities. After some administration, they handed us the keys and guided us to our beautiful deluxe room. All the restaurants are located on the ground floor. There’s a bar/restaurant called The Fifth right opposite the check-in desk offering burgers, sandwiches, etc. At Rise, guests can enjoy several international dishes. Also, breakfast is served here every morning. I liked the overall design of the hotel, contemporary and modern.

Our room, a deluxe executive room, was located on one of the executive floors (floors 9-10). The room we stayed in was comfortable and had all the amenities I would expect of a four star hotel. The king size bed was great to sleep in! The large bathroom had both a bath tub and separate walk-in shower. The room was immaculately clean and temperature was great! The comfy couch was very relaxing for watching television later that night! Loved it!

1 2.jpeg

The executive lounge was located on our floor and actually was one of the best Hilton executive lounges I have experienced! The food throughout the day was excellent and all soft and hot drinks are complimentary all day long. From 6pm – 8.30pm alcoholic drinks such as white/red wine and some spirits are offered as well. The food was great too! Small hamburgers, vegetables, pasta and some sweets. The lounge was large featuring several sitting areas. It was great to hang out reading a book or surfing with my tablet. Service was fantastic and nothing was asked for too much!

6 7

With all the eating and drinking, I wanted to work out. The fitness center at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport is large and one thing I noticed is the nice temperature. I don’t know why, but most times it is just too hot at a hotel’s fitness center, but here it was as it should be, not too warm… and not too cold. Perfect! After a great work out I used the steam room and felt completely zen afterwards.

3 17

After a wonderful night, we had breakfast at the executive lounge. The small buffet was an excellent start of the day and I appreciated the calm atmosphere at the lounge! At some lounges, you do need to look for a place to sit, but no need to worry about that here… the lounge is huge!

5.jpeg 8.jpeg

If you ever need a place to stay near the airport of Frankfurt, do not hesitate to stay at the Hilton. With direct access to the airport, great rooms and fantastic service… This is THE place to be!

As most of you know, I am a Hilton fan! 🙂 I was happy to experience and explore the DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Central Station as I heard good things about the hotel and oh boy, it definitely deserves its high reputation! The hotel is perfectly located to explore Amsterdam as the central station is right next to the hotel and the city center of Amsterdam is just a few steps away. Just as I like it, a central location without the hectic city center.

13

The hotel itself is quite new, it opened back in 2011 as the first DoubleTree hotel in the Netherlands. With 557 rooms, it is pretty large but they manage to provide a personal service which I appreciated very much. As usual, guests receive a chocolate chip cookie (I’m in love with these cookies by the way!) and all the information we needed to know was given. It are those small things like the cookies that make the hotel experience different than the usual. Our keys were handed in just seconds… great!

5

We stayed in an executive room which gave us access to the executive lounge which I will tell you more about later. The room itself had a good size and had a modern decoration. One thing I never saw in any other hotel was the iMac. Every room at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel Amsterdam Central Station has its own iMac which works as a television as well. I was happy to leave my own laptop at home! No e-mails… no messages… no files… Just browsing the internet! Excellent! Although the bathroom wasn’t too large, it had all the amenities I needed such as single sink, toilet and a good size walk-in shower. One detail: great toiletries including mouth wash … never seen in any four star hotel.

After exploring our beautiful room we went downstairs to explore the executive lounge which is located on the ground floor near the bar. The executive lounge at the DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Central Station is one of the better lounges I have experienced. In the morning, guests can enjoy a wonderful buffet breakfast. I saw guests ordering omelets, etc. and they were happy to prepare them. I even noticed champagne at the breakfast buffet which is not common at an executive lounge breakfast. From 6pm – 8pm alcoholic drinks such as beer and wine are served. Small bites are offered as well. I suggest and highly recommend to upgrade your room to the executive level. For a small amount, you get so many advantages!

16

Before heading to bed, I visited the Sky Lounge, a famous rooftop bar in Amsterdam with a great ambiance. There was a cool atmosphere with lounge music played by a dj and several seating areas. The menu is amazing with several unique cocktails which are prepared in a very professional way! I couldn’t ask for a better view, by the way! The 360° panoramic views of Amsterdam are unique.

15
14

Breakfast is served at Eastwood. The breakfast served here is above average with complimentary champagne and lots of hot/cold dishes and several à la carte items. The perfect way to start your day!

The DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Central Station is a top notch four star hotel with 5 star service and great facilities such as a large fitness center, bars and a full service restaurant. After staying here, it became one of my favorite hotels in Amsterdam and would recommend this hotel to anyone! Thumbs up!

The Hilton Rotterdam is one of the finest 5 star properties of Rotterdam. It is perfectly located in the city center of Rotterdam and lies on the Coolsingel, next to the Hofplein which makes this Hilton suitable for both business travelers and tourists wishing to visit this city or for shopping. As you may know, Rotterdam is just great for shopping and all the main shopping areas are just within walking distance. Be sure to visit the Market Hall, the locals are pretty proud of that market and gorgeous it is!

This hotel is huge featuring 254 comfortable rooms and suites. You will notice as soon as you enter! Although the building itself is quite old, the entire hotel has been renovated in 2013. As most Hiltons, the reception/lobby area is spacious and luxurious! Everything in here looks brand new! I was in love with the overall decoration and style throughout the hotel, it is just beautiful and of a true 5 star level. The cozy sitting areas with fireplaces are great to hang out. Check-in staff was very professional and told us everything we needed know about the hotel and surrounding areas.

The rooms at the Hilton Rotterdam are beautiful (are there bad Hilton rooms anyway?). Again, they look brand new. I especially liked the beds, they are very comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep! I appreciated the small typical Dutch touches such as the decoration in the room. Other 5 star amenities are the Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes and a Bose Docking Station. The small couch in the room was perfect for surfing on my iPad! The marble bathroom had a bath tub and single sink. All in all, great rooms here!

The modern Stadshal Bar & Restaurant offers a modern kitchen and the decoration is trendy. The brasserie styled menu is varied and they use fresh products and ingredients. Breakfast is offered here as well and the buffet style breakfast was amazing. I could not ask for a better start of the day!

5

Our room was located on one of the executive floors which means we had access to the beautiful executive lounge. The lounge itself is one of the nicest Hilton Lounges I have seen. What a nice place to relax and have a great evening! From 6pm – 8.30pm small bites are offered. Non-alcoholic cold and hot drinks are available all day long. Alcoholic drinks such as wine, beer and some spirits are available from 6pm – 10pm. I do recommend upgrading to an executive room. It is worth your money and you won’t be sorry! Guests can also enjoy a small breakfast buffet here during the morning.

If you are into working out, a full size fitness center is available 24hrs. The gym is located on the ground floor and is pretty spacious with a lot of day light which is great as most fitness centers are located in some sort of basement.

The Hilton Rotterdam definitely is one of my favorite hotels in Rotterdam! What makes this hotel so special is the service they provide. Staff is always helpful and every request has been taken care of with a smile! Thumbs up and highly recommended!

Located in the ‘middle of it all’, the Hilton Berlin is a top five star hotel which I thoroughly enjoyed… I was ‘wowed’ when I entered this grand hotel! The lobby area truly is spectacular and has the most comfortable seating areas all over the place. It felt really good hanging out here during the day and night as the place was well maintained, trendy and ultra luxurious! What a great start!

1

Check-in was very efficient and the check-in staff was professional and friendly without being over the top… just the way I like it and the way it should be! Our keys were handed in seconds and we were curious on how the room will look like.

The room we stayed in, an executive deluxe room with a direct view of the dome, was very classy and comfortable! As you may expect of a Hilton hotel, it had all the amenities and facilities of a five star hotel. The trendy couch was perfect for reading or surfing on my iPad! I still had some work to do and appreciated the large desk with the most comfortable seat. Plenty of sockets as well which is a bonus J The bathroom had a tub/shower combination, toilet and single sink. The typical Hilton toiletries were great.

3

Since we had an executive room, we had access to the executive lounge which is located on the ground floor next to the reception area. It was one of the better executive lounges I have experienced! A small breakfast buffet is offered during the morning, an afternoon cake buffet in the afternoon and at night (from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm) a selection of alcoholic drinks (including some spirits) and a buffet with light bites. You don’t have to leave the hotel to eat when you have access to the executive lounge! From soup to (hot)sandwiches, vegetables, etc. They have it all! Highly recommended to upgrade your stay with lounge access!

7.jpg 4.jpeg

The spa area here is just gorgeous! The Hilton Berlin has an indoor pool which had a good size by the way! Not one of those small hotel pools, you can actually swim in this one J Next to the pool, is a full fitness center with the latest technology equipment. I should mention the lovely staff! They were all great and every request has been fulfilled with a smile, thumbs up!

8.jpg
10.jpg 5.jpeg

There are several dining options here, from à la carte restaurants and fancy lobby bars to a buffet style restaurant. We had dinner at their restaurant Mark Brandenburg, a classic Berlin restaurant right at the Gendarmenmarkt. They offer a great menu and I tried the traditional schnitzel which was absolutely delicious! Definitely a must try when you are there! Staff was wonderful… Breakfast is served at restaurant Beletage offering the most amazing views out of the Gendarmenmarkt. Really spectacular and so was the buffet… the food really good and plenty of choice!

I can not say a bad word about the Hilton Berlin! One of the better hotels I have stayed at in Berlin and definitely worth staying here if you are looking for a full five star experience!

Rated as one of the best hotels in the city, the Hilton The Hague is a high end 5 star property. This impressive hotel is set within the restored buildings of the former Royal Dutch Telecom headquarters. The location is perfect, prominently located in the embassy quarter of the city center and within walking distance of the many shops The Hague has to offer!

The lobby area is spacious and modern. I loved the interior design throughout this hotel! Quite modern without being over the top and cozy at the same time. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and were impressed with the overall quality and design of the room. The separate bedroom had a large king sized bed and cozy couch. There were 2 large desks and plenty of closets. The bathroom had double sinks, separate bath tub and a 2 persons (rain) shower. The living room had a dining table and small saloon. I loved the décor of the room, very nicely done with warm colors and high quality materials. Other facilities you may expect from a 5 star hotel: Nespresso coffee machine, Bose docking station and toiletries of a good quality.

We had access to the executive lounge which is located on the 5th floor. Here, guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks and coffee all day long. During the evening, alcoholic beverages and light bites are offered at no additional charge. Although the lounge wasn’t too large, it was nice sitting there during day and night. It is an intimate space where guests can work or just relax and chat. I do recommend upgrading to the executive lounge as it has a lot of advantages. If you’re not a big eater, you actually don’t have to leave the hotel as there are many (small) food options for you to enjoy so you won’t get hungry.

The Hilton The Hague has one fine dining restaurant, Pearl. This restaurant is inspired by the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer’s painting ‘Girl with a pearl earring’. Breakfast is served here every day. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with soft and colorful lighting effects. When I was taking pictures here, I looked outside for a second thinking how great it should be to enjoy the dishes outside while watching the boats floating by during summer time. There’s a full bar as well, named Spark.

FullSizeRender (97)

The fitness center is up to date and has great equipment with small build-in television screens. Complimentary water is provided. After the work out I had some work to do and enjoyed the business center with computer and printing facilities. I also liked the location of the business center, it was fun watching people walking by while working.

image7 (26)

After a great night, it was time to get up and enjoy breakfast. Since we were staying in a suite with lounge access, we had the option to have breakfast in the lounge or at Pearl, the restaurant I talked about earlier. We choose to have breakfast downstairs and enjoyed every bite. It was a buffet style breakfast with several à la carte options.

No wonder that the Hilton The Hague is known for its service and overall quality. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, 5 stars all the way!

Only opened for 19 months, the Waldorf Astoria already became one of the best hotels in Amsterdam! After 2 years of renovating the place, the result is amazing. It is located near the famous Herengracht. Entering the Waldorf Astoria hotel Amsterdam is entering a world full of luxury and attention to details. It truly is a unique canal palace. You are treated as royalty here and the personal service they provide will make a stay at the Waldorf Astoria as an experience rather than another hotel stay! At check-in, guests are asked to choose from 4 different kind of room scents. How cool is that? They will make sure your room smells the way you want, great!

The lounge area is just gorgeous and large. Although, there are ‘only’ 93 rooms at the Waldorf Astoria, the hotels feels grand and ultra luxurious. Marble and fresh flowers everywhere and I love the fact that they kept some original elements throughout the hotel. Occupying seven landmark 17th- and 18th-century buildings, this hotel is grand and you will feel the space… Walking around here feels like walking in a castle and although the hotel was fully booked, we didn’t notice.

All rooms at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam are unique and trust me, they are all luxuriously decorated using only the finest fabrics. One of nicest five star hotel rooms I have seen. From the cozy couches to the most comfortable king sized beds, you will feel like home here. The bathrooms have a television as well and feature both tub and separate walk-in shower. Oh, and there’s soft classical music playing when you enter the room, very classy… very Waldorf!

So many things to do here: a full Guerlain (the first in the Benelux!) spa center with direct access to the hotel’s lush garden. The calming tones and elegant décor will make you at ease within seconds. It has 3 treatment rooms where they will take care of you in a very professional way. The stunning indoor swimming pool is a bonus! Of course, there’s a full fitness center and after working out in the fitness or pool, you can relax in several relaxation areas.

image5 (5) IMG_0148

The Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam has several dining options. Their signature restaurant Librije’s zusje, located on the lower ground floor, has two Michelin stars and is one of the best restaurants that Amsterdam has to offer. Be sure to enjoy an aperitif at The Vault Bar, a hidden pearl of the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam in the former safe of this bank-building (the building used to be one of Amsterdam’s most prestige’s bank). And nice to know: great mojito’s! One of the best I have ever had! I thoroughly enjoyed dinner at the Goldfinch Brasserie which is overseen by executive chef Sidney Schutte, the award-winning chef of Librije’s zusje. I appreciated the international cuisine and yummie wines. The four course menu was reasonably priced and the overall quality of the food was outstanding! We had such a great time here! The couches, décor and atmosphere were amazing. Every dish was outstanding! Highly recommended to enjoy dinner here!
